On Sunday, the 22nd of January, 2023, the University Rector, Prof. Dr. Edrees Muhamad Tahir Harki received Mr. Christon Ochak, President of the Polish Agricultural Innovation Association and Ms. Alina Ochak, Member of the Municipal Council of Villita, Poland.
In the meeting where Vice Rector for Scientific Affairs Asst. Prof. Dr. Nageb Toma Bato available, our University Rector briefed the guest delegation about Erbil Polytechnic University, then discussed several activities in the future by the delegation such as:
* Conducting a workshop on innovation in agriculture and livestock industry by the Polish Experts in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture of the Kurdistan Regional Government.
* Conducting a workshop for the staff of Erbil Polytechnic University by the experts in the field of the food technology to prepare for the opening of the Department of Food Technology and Food Preparation Quality in Erbil Polytechnic University.
* Conducting a seminar for the Erbil Technical administrative College in the field of international marketing during this week.
* Planning for work on waste recycling and recycling projects.
On Thursday, the 19th of December 2023, the Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Abdulfattah Abdulrazaq, the Rector of the Erbil Polytechnic University Edrees Muhamad Tahir Harki presented certificates and medals to the holders of the scientific titles (professors and assistant professors) belonging to the technical colleges and institutes of our university.
At the ceremony, the Advisor of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Dr. Amir Chali, the Minister of Endowments and Religious Affairs Advisor Dr. Diyar Jabari, the Head of Aso Regional Committee Mr. Lawand Dzeyi, the Head of Ainda Region Mr. Amin Lajani, several deans of technical colleges, and university teachers were present.
At the beginning of the ceremony, his Excellency our University Rector delivered a speech in which he welcomed the guests, teachers and participants, and congratulated the holders of scientific titles (professors and assistant professors) on the occasion of promoting their scientific degrees. He said: “The research you have published is a tribute to all the university services you have done that have brought you to this day and we are proud to honor you.
In another part of his statement , the Rector said: We want to further develop the scientific degree in the Erbil Polytechnic University and the quantity of professors and assistant professors reach a satisfactory level. To be honest, we do not have the required level of lecturers and the scientific title holders to cope with the big name of Erbil Polytechnic University, so we hope that you try your best to conduct more research, those who have not reached the level of your rank, especially teachers and assistant professors.”
Finally, I congratulate you again and promise you that we will continue to encourage and support you so that Erbil Polytechnic University like other universities in Iraq and Kurdistan reach a much higher level.”
Later, the awards were distributed by the Rector, guests and deans of technical colleges and institutes.
The Rector of the Erbil Polytechnic University Prof. Dr. Erdees Muhamad Tahir Harki, accompanied by a delegation of the world universities Council, which consisted of Dr. Orhan Hikmat Azizoglu, the President of the Council of International Universities, Dr. Kamran Younis Mohammed Amin, the Rector of Salahaddin University, Dr. Nuredin Ismail, the Erbil Medical University Rector, Dr. Sherwan Sharif Qurtas, the Rector of Soran University, and Dr. Ahmad Dzeyi, the Rector of Bayan University.
In the meeting, the guest delegation briefed on the situation of universities, the academic centers and the scientific development level in the region. They also appreciated President Barzani’s concern that he continuously supported the Kurdistan Regional Government’s universities and academic centers in the past thirty years.
The meeting attendees also exchanged views on the role of universities and scientific centers in promoting various dimensions of the Kurdish community and raising the level of understanding and education of individuals.
