Representatives of Kurdistan Regional Polytechnic Universities visit China

To strengthen the academic and cultural relationships and collaboration of the university with the private sector and find job opportunities for the polytechnic universities alumni. And to be closely aware of the vocational education system and to be aware of China’s progress in this field, Asst. Prof. Dr. Younis Khalid Khoshnaw a As a representative of Erbil Polytechnic University, they will be in China for fourteen days accompanied by representatives of Kurdistan Polytechnic Universities from the 10th to 24th of April. Representatives of all five Kurdistan Polytechnic universities will stay in China.

  During the visit, the representatives of the Kurdistan Regional Polytechnic Universities will participate in several seminars and visit several colleges and universities in the country and visit several advanced factories to learn about the experience of China and how to link the private sector and vocational education.

  The visit was arranged in collaboration with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the Chinese Consulate in Erbil and the Chinese Ministry of Commerce in order to strengthen collaboration with Ningbo Polytechnic University in Ningbo City and Aeronautics University in Chengdu, China: (Seminar for Vocational Education Teachers in Developing Countries 2024). It is worth mentioning that the delegation of Kurdistan universities was welcomed by the President of Ningbo Polytechnic University.

Rector of Erbil Polytechnic University participates in a Session of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research

Tuesday, the 16th of April, 2024, Prof. Dr. Edrees Muhamad Tahir Harki, the Rector of the Erbil Polytechnic University, participated in the session (Opportunities and Challenges of Using Artificial Intelligence in Academic Publications) supervised by Dr. Aram Mohammed Qadir, the Minister of the Higher Education and Scientific Research. The session was arranged by the Research and Development Office of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research at the Erbil International Hotel.

In the session, the representatives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, university presidents, consultants, general directors, vice presidents, university teachers and academic guests were present in which several speeches were delivered.

Then, in four different panels the panelists discussed the tools and opportunities of using artificial intelligence in academic publications and the experience of advanced universities, publishing houses and international journals on how to deal with artificial intelligence and the challenges of using artificial intelligence in academic publications, and other topics.

The sessions (Opportunities and Challenges of Using Artificial Intelligence in Academic Publications) completed with several recommendations.

With the partnership of World Creativity and Innovation Week/Day, Erbil Polytechnic University Jointly with Tishk International University will conduct an International Workshop

 

with the partnership of the Erbil Polytechnic University, the Tishk International University(Faculty of Administrative Sciences and Economics/ organized by Business and Management Department)  will conduct an International workshop on the World Creativity and Innovation Day (WCID) that will be held at the 21st of April 2024. The workshop will be hosted by the World Creativity and Innovation Week/Day Organization and the platform of the workshop will be supervised by several academic and expert staff of both universities and the World Creativity and Innovation Week/Day. Professor Jim Friedman (Chief Steward of World Creativity and Innovation Week/Day), the guest of Honor will present a speech online. Then, four other academic staff and experts will supervise and manage the workshop platform.

The Rector of Erbil Polytechnic University receives Japanese Consul General in Erbil

On Monday, the 18th of April, 2024, Prof. Dr. Edrees Muhamad Tahir Harki received Mr. Arakawa Mikihiro, the Consul of Japan in the Erbil city.

In a meeting where the Vice Rector for Administrative and Financial Affairs and the Vice Rector for Scientific and Higher Education Affairs, the Dean of Erbil Technology College, the General Director of the Scientific Research Center, and the Director of the Rector’s Office were present, Prof. Dr. Edrees Muhamad Tahir Harki briefly talked about the history of our university, scientific departments, the number of students and teachers and location of institutions affiliated to our university.

Then, the Japanese Consul expressed his pleasure to visit our university and said that he is glad for seeing a polytechnic university in the Kurdistan Region that works on new sciences and the needs of the labor market.

In another part of his speech, the Japanese Consul expressed the readiness of the Japanese Consulate through the Embassy of his country in Iraq to provide any assistance to establish relationships between his country’s universities and Erbil Polytechnic University in terms of science and provide some scholarships.
