On Monday, the 18^th of April, 2024, Prof. Dr. Edrees Muhamad Tahir Harki received Mr. Arakawa Mikihiro, the Consul of Japan in the Erbil city.

In a meeting where the Vice Rector for Administrative and Financial Affairs and the Vice Rector for Scientific and Higher Education Affairs, the Dean of Erbil Technology College, the General Director of the Scientific Research Center, and the Director of the Rector’s Office were present, Prof. Dr. Edrees Muhamad Tahir Harki briefly talked about the history of our university, scientific departments, the number of students and teachers and location of institutions affiliated to our university.

Then, the Japanese Consul expressed his pleasure to visit our university and said that he is glad for seeing a polytechnic university in the Kurdistan Region that works on new sciences and the needs of the labor market.

In another part of his speech, the Japanese Consul expressed the readiness of the Japanese Consulate through the Embassy of his country in Iraq to provide any assistance to establish relationships between his country’s universities and Erbil Polytechnic University in terms of science and provide some scholarships.

On Monday, the 8^th of April, 2024, the Dean of the Erbil Technology College, Prof. Dr. Keyhan Zrar Ghafoor participated as the Keynote Speaker at the 5th International Conference on Computing, Communication and Cyber-Security (IC4S’05) held at Graphic Era Hill University, Bhimtal Campus, India.

The Dean of Erbil Technology College presented a paper entitled (Privacy in the Era of Social Media: Managing your Digital Presence).

In continuation of activities to serve the students, on the 4^th and 5^th of May, 2024, the Erbil Polytechnic University will open a technology exhibition entitled (U-TECH) for graduates and students of our university in order to showcase their projects and get job opportunities.

The exhibition will be opened under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Edrees Muhamad Tahir Harki, the Rector of the Erbil Polytechnic University entitled (U-TECH) in which showcase all the projects that have used technology in each field (engineering, science, health, economy and art) will be shown in the Exhibition.

In the exhibition, people with ideas (hidden talents, experts, graduates, students) can win unique prizes.

It is worth mentioning that the exhibition will be arranged jointly by the Erbil Polytechnic University, the Kurdistan Institute for Creativity and Innovation, and the Knowledge University.

On Thursday, the 28^th of March, 2024, Prof. Dr. Edrees Muhamad Tahir Harki, the Rector of the Erbil Polytechnic University, accompanied by Prof. Dr. Kihan Zrar Ghafoor, the Dean of the Erbil Technology College, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Ranj Sirwan Abdullah, the General Director of the Scientific Research Center, visited the Consulate General of the Republic of China in Erbil and they were welcomed by Mr. Liu Jun, the Consul General of China and the Head of Political Department Chen Gouching.

The purpose of the visit was to introduce the Erbil Polytechnic University to the consul and the staff of the consulate. They also discussed the collaboration of the consulate in establishing and strengthening relations between our university and Chinese universities In addition to culture exchange between both countries, the Kurdistan Region and China.

The Chinese Consul gladly agreed to the proposals and expressed his full support for our university that they will do everything through them to strengthen relations between our university and universities in his country. Other scientific topics and some other issues such as financial assistance and cooperation were another topic of the meeting.
