Erbil Polytechnic University first gave technology and artificial intelligence to the students of the Medical Technical Institute.

For the first time, Erbil Polytechnic University gave smart technology and artificial intelligence to the students of the Medical Technical Institute. This helped them to study in a modern way using advanced technology. On Thursday, with the presence of the university Rector, his assistants, some university council members, and government and party officials, a human-like smart device was given to the students of the Medical Technical Institute in Erbil.

This device was used for the first time in government and private universities in the Kurdistan Region. It looked like a human and acted like a patient. Students practiced on the device instead of real patients in hospitals. They learned and treated the smart device like a real sick person.The university Rector continued building the university base and also worked on renewing and creating new halls and labs for all colleges and institutes. After getting funds last year from the Ministry of Finance and Economy, the university bought many devices, microscopes, and computers. This year, the plan is also to buy many new devices and modern technology.

With the presence of the Rector, the festival of the Erbil Technical Medical Institute Day was held.

On Thursday, April 10, 2025, with the presence of the Rector of the university, his assistants, some members of the Polytechnic University Council of Erbil, the head of the Aso area committee, and several government and party officials, the College Day Festival was held at Erbil Technical Medical Institute.At the beginning, Mr. Tiran Jamil, the head of the institute, welcomed the guests in a speech. He talked about the festival as a scientific, artistic, and cultural activity. It was organized with the help of students and teachers from all eight departments of the institute, especially the staff.The head of the institute thanked all the companies who joined the festival. These companies helped by giving information about their work and offering job opportunities for the students, especially for the students of the Polytechnic University of Erbil.

Then, Dr. Idris Mohammed Tahir Herki, the Rector of the Polytechnic University of Erbil, gave a speech after welcoming the guests. He thanked the institute for organizing the festival in a beautiful way. He hoped to see more of these activities in all colleges and institutes.The Rector said that he and the university council always supported the scientific activities of colleges and institutes. He said that the Technical Medical Institute is one of the most important institutes because it prepared many graduates every year who found jobs in the work market, especially in public and private hospitals.

At the end, the Rector said that the university gave the institute a modern machine. This was the first time such a machine was used in public universities. He said the university was ready to provide all the needs of the medical and other departments.

After that, the Rector and the guests visited the departments of the festival. They thanked the organizers and wished success to all the participants

Mergasor Technical Institute Hosts 2nd Annual Forum: “The role of art, cinema, translations in transmitting Kurdistan’s Sacred Values to the World – The Barzan Path as an Example”

Mergasor Technical Institute successfully held its Second Scientific Forum , under the theme “Translating Kurdistan’s Sacred Values to the World – The Barzan Path as an Example.” The event brought together Dr. Pashtiwan Sadiq, Minister of Endowments and Religious Affairs of the Kurdistan Regional Government, along with a distinguished gathering of university professors, academics, intellectuals, political and governmental figures, and students.

The forum commenced with an opening speech by Dr. Talib Mohammed Sharif Omar, Dean of the Institute, who warmly welcomed the guests and participants. He emphasized the vital role that art, cinema, and translation play in preserving and sharing the rich and sacred values of Kurdistan with the wider world.

The forum featured a series of documentaries and visual presentations highlighting the history of Barzan and the untold stories of General Mustafa Barzani.

In addition, several panel sessions explored the efforts of the Kurdistan Regional Government in safeguarding and promoting the coexistence, cultural and spiritual values of the region.

A key panel discussion titled “The Role of History, Art, Cinema, and Translation in Transmitting Kurdistan’s Sacred Values to the World: The Barzan Path as an Example” featured panelists Mohammed Kakesur, Dr. Shuan Hamad Amin, and Arian Salahaddin Asad, who shared insights on cultural heritage, national identity, and the power of storytelling.

To conclude the event, Prof. Azad Hassan, Vice Rector of the University, presented certificates of appreciation to the panelists and honored a number of writers, translators, filmmakers, and photographers of the region for their outstanding contributions to preserving and promoting the values of Kurdistan.

It is worth to mention, in its second year, this annual forum reflects Mergasor Technical Institute’s ongoing commitment to introducing the history, struggle, and sacrifices of the Kurdish people to the world. The Institute is dedicated to showcasing the values and vibrant culture of Kurdistan—especially those rooted in environmentalism and peaceful coexistence—through modern platforms such as translation, art, digital media, and film.

Through initiatives like this forum, Mergasor Technical Institute aims to raise public awareness—particularly among youth and students—about the importance of preserving national values, promoting environmental consciousness, and working collectively towards a strong and unified society.
