Erbil Polytechnic University And University Of Lodz Of Poland Sign A Memorandum of Understanding

The Erbil Polytechnic University and the Lodz University of Poland signed a memorandum of understanding to establish academic and scientific relations.

On Thursday, the 2nd of March, 2023, the Rector of the University, Prof. Dr. Edrees Muhamad Tahir Harki received a delegation of the University of Lodz in Poland consisted of the Dean, the Faculty of Economics and Sociology Professor Rafal Matera and the Vice Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Sociology and the Head of the Student Affairs of the university of Lodz Professor Tomasz Uryszek. After welcoming the guests, our university Rector considered the visits and understandings between the universities as an important step to pay more attention on improving the scientific level and establishing relationships between local and international universities and institutes.

In the meeting where the Vice Rector for Scientific Affairs Asst. Prof. Dr.  Nageb Toma Bato, the Head of Cultural Relations Unit at the Directorate of International Relations Office Asst. Prof. Dr. Abdullah Omar Yasin, and the Lecturer at the Erbil Technical Administrative College Asst. Prof. Dr. Walaa were available a memorandum of understanding was signed between both universities which included the below subjects:

1- Receiving financial fund.

2- Scientific trip by hosting students and teachers.

3_ Participation in summer courses for cultural exchange.

4_Holding a joint conference.

The University of Lodz is a public university and they were hosted within the framework of the internationalization of the university in order to establish relations with advanced universities in European countries, and it was decided to work to hold a scientific conference between the two sides next year.

Erbil Polytechnic University organized a workshop on trust

On Wednesday, the 1st of March, 2023, in the presence of the Rector of the University, Prof. Dr. Edrees Muhamad Tahir Harki and several members of the university council, the university presidency directors, lecturers, and employees, a workshop entitled: (Institutional Effectiveness: The Concept of Accreditation in Kurdistan) was presented by Dr. Hunar Issa, Member Board Trustees at the American University of Kurdistan-Duhok

In the Workshop, Dr. Hunar Issa spoke in detail about the impact of trust in the management of institutions, which is of great importance, and considered the issue of giving trust to departments, colleges and institutes as an important and modern need, and also explained how to work to achieve this trust.

Erbil Polytechnic University Ends Its Football League For Boys A9nd Girls

On Wednesday, the 1st of March, 2023, the football league was ended that was opened for boys. In this ceremony, the University Rector, Prof. Dr. Edrees Muhamad Tahir Harki, the Vice Rectors, several University Council members, directors of the university presidency, lecturers, and students were present.  

Within the works and activities of Activities Directorate of the University Presidency, a miniature football league for boys was ended in which the football team of Koya Technical Institute students defeated the students of the Erbil Technical Administrative College by (2-1) and became the champion of the league.

Then, the University Rector and the university Council Members distributed prizes on the champions and best players of the league.

Meanwhile, today the miniature football league was ended for girl students that was opened on the level of colleges and institutes teams.

In the final of the girls’ junior football league, the first team defeated the second team by scoring 6 -2 and became the champions of the league.

Later, Prizes were distributed on the champions and best players of the league.

A delegation of Erbil Polytechnic University participated in the opening anniversary of the Armenian Consulate in Erbil

On Sunday, the 26th of February, 2023, at the official invitation of the Consulate General of Armenia in the Kurdistan Region, on behalf of the EPU Rector, the Vice Rector for Scientific Affairs and Higher Education and the Dean of Mergasur Technical Institute, participated in the second anniversary of the opening of the Consulate General of the Republic of Armenia in Erbil.

The university delegation also participated in an exhibition of photographs, archives and historical documents about the composition of Kurdish, Yezidi and Assyrian ethnic groups in Armenia, which was shown as a similarity between Armenia and Kurdistan, where different communities have lived together for years regardless of tradition, religion or language.

The Kurdish and Armenian nations have suffered greatly throughout history and both peoples have been genocided.

It is worth mentioning that a significant number of senior government officials, political parties and consuls attended this ceremony.
