On Sunday, the 9^th of June, 2024, Prof. Dr. Edrees Muhamad Tahir Harki, the Rector of the Erbil Polytechnic University, accompanied by a delegation visited the Qatar Consulate in Erbil and was received by Mr. Hussein Ali Saleh, Consul of that country.

In the meeting, Prof. Dr. Azad Hassan Qadir, the Vice Rector for Administrative and Financial Affairs; Asst. Prof. Dr. Ranj Sirwan Abdullah, the General Director of the Scientific Research Center, and Mr. Bahzad Hilmi Akrayi, the Director of the Rector’s Office were present.

The Qatar Consul in Erbil warmly appreciated the Rector and his accompanying delegations’ visit and expressed his admiration for the working strategy of our university and wished further success to our university.

In another topic of the meeting, views were exchanged on building and promoting relations between the two countries.

The Qatar consul also expressed his readiness to assist our university in the areas that are necessary for the university, and revealed that they are going to arrange several events in the near future in the Kurdistan Region and one of them will be dedicated to culture. Several representatives of the country are coming to the Kurdistan Region to introduce the Kurdish people to the culture of their country.

Another part of the discussions was about the exchange of students between our university and universities in Qatar. Asst. Prof. Dr. Edrees Muhamad Tahir Harki, the university Rector expressed the universities’ readiness that a group of students from Qatar universities to conduct summer internships at our university.

On Thursday, the 6^th of June, 2024, Prof. Dr. Edrees Muhamad Tahir Harki, the Rector of the Erbil Polytechnic University, in the presence of Asst. Prof. Dr. Botan Majid Asnger, the Vice Rector for Scientific Affairs and Higher Education; Asst. Prof. Dr. Sarsam Khalil Omar, the Dean of the Erbil Technical Administrative Institute; Mr. Bahzad Hilmi Akrayi, the Director of the Rector’s Office, Dr. Bahjat Sabri Akrayi, the Head of the Department and the lecturers of the Department of Tourism Administration, received a number of students of the department and awarded them certificates of appreciation for their duties, efforts and activities during the 29th meeting of Arab universities.

The university Rector welcomed the audience and said: “I am pleased that you have done a very good job and showed a beautiful picture to the Arab delegations at the 29th meeting on exchange of training opportunities between member universities of the Arab Universities Union It was to be held inside the university so that the guests could know what our university is, what it can do and how much it can do. Because you are part of the institute and university and can show what you have learned What can be done? Today we wanted to see you up close and congratulate you.

Later, Asst. Prof. Dr. Sarsam, the Dean of Erbil Technical Administrative Institute thanked the Rector for his assistance and support to the students and the institute, and also wished continuity and more success for the students, and thanked the staff and teachers of the department for their hard work with the students.
