On Wednesday, the 30th of November 2022, the Erbil Polytechnic University Rector.
Prof. Dr. Edrees Muhamad Tahir Harki participated in the inauguration ceremony
of the Advisory Board between Academia and the Private Sector announced by the
Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
In the ceremony Dr. Aram Mohammed Qadir, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific
Research, several presidents of the Kurdistan Region universities, consultants,
general directors and representatives of a significant number of companies in
the Kurdistan Region was available at the first consultative meeting between
the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the Private Sector,
and the Industry Sector.
The Higher Education and Scientific Research Minister presented a statement in which he
said: “This step is the beginning of a new revolution in education reform
and human resource development. It is important that all our partners in parliament,
government, private sector, civil society organizations, and intellectuals support
and collaborate with us,”
The purpose of establishing the Board of Academia, private sector, and industry is to create
collaboration between universities and educational institutions with the
private and industrial sectors of Kurdistan, in which polytechnic universities
will play an important role as these universities are currently responsive to
the labor market.
The board’s mission is to constantly survey the needs of the labor market, change the content
of the curriculum and open new departments and programs related to the labor market,
as well as reviewing the departments that are no longer in demand.
Another objective of the project is to receive the views of the private sector and industry on
further collaboration to prepare the Kurdistan Workforce in light of the
labor market’s needs and the economic development directors in the Kurdistan
Region for university education to reflect the needs of the labor market and
the direction of economic growth and prepare the youth of our country for the
skills needed for the labor market.
Today, the 30th of November 2022, the Erbil Polytechnic University Rector, Dr. Edrees Muhamad Tahir Harki, received the Russian Consul in Erbil, Mr. Maxim Rubin.
The University Rector Assistant for Scientific Affairs and the International Relations Office Director were present at this meeting. His Excellency, the University Rector, talked briefly about EPU. Then the Russian Consul spoke about the old relationships between his country and Kurdistan from the last century’s sixties and continued till now.
Both parties discussed building a relationship between our university and the Russian Universities through the Russian General Consulate in Erbil to benefit from their scientific capacities.
From his side, the Russian Consul promised to enhance our relations. Accordingly, he asked for writing a formal letter from the consulate, and they will direct it to their country’s universities to build an academic and scientific relationship in the nearest future.
Erbil Polytechnic University Announces Five Master degrees. Study in the English Language field for two years.
The International Relations Office Directorate in number 11216 on the 28th of November 2022, and according to the Higher Education and Scientific Research Ministry/Directorate of Envoys and Cultural Relations approval certificate number 21258 on the 22nd of November 2022, according to the memorandum of understanding agreement between the Erbil Polytechnic University and China Three Gorges University, announces for a partial scholarship at the China Three Gorges University, five seats of master degree in the English language field are allocated for the Erbil university colleges and institutes administrative staff within the approved plan of 2023 of our university. The partial scholarship includes the Study and place of residence expenses, but the pocket money and transportation expenses will be on the student.
Note:
* The documents will be according to the application conditions of instruction number (5) in 2021, the Study leaves request of the Kurdistan Region Government.
* The application procedures will be through the International Relations Office Directorate of the Erbil Polytechnic University.
* The Deadline for the application is 12/12/2022.
