As part of the RISE project delegation visit to Italy, a delegation from Erbil Polytechnic University, led by Asst. Prof. Botan AL-Hadad accompanied by Asst. Prof. Abdullah Omar Yassen, and Ms. Peru Botan Muhsin, held a meeting in Rome with the President of the Università degli Studi Internazionali di Roma – UNINT.

During the meeting, Professor Margherita Russo, President of UNINT, and Professor Luciano Nardo, Vice rector for International Affairs, participated in an academic discussion focusing on scientific collaboration and shared experiences. Following the discussions, both parties signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen cooperation and implement joint activities in the future.

This initiative reflects EPU’s vision and strategy to internationalise the university and open new global opportunities. The university leadership remains committed to supporting such activities, which elevate the university’s academic standing and expand its partnerships with leading international institutions.

On Tuesday (20/1/2026), Prof. Dr. Botan Majid Asangar, Assistant Rector for Scientific and Postgraduate Affairs; Prof. Dr. Abdullah Omer Yasin, Director of International Relations; and Dr. Dler Abdullah Ahmed, Director of the General Registry, welcomed a delegation from Al-Hamdaniya University.

The delegation included Dr. Ola Ibrahim Mahmoud, Head of the Quality Assurance and Ranking Department; Mr. Istabraq Ali Hamid, Head of the Scientific Department and representative of the Assistant Rector for Scientific Affairs; and Dalal Abdulaziz Mahmoud, an employee of the Quality Assurance and Ranking Department and representative of the Rector’s Office.

The aim of the visit was to discuss coordination and to establish scientific and academic cooperation between the two universities. They also discussed conducting joint research and conferences and benefiting from the experience of academic staff at both universities.

On Tuesday (20/1/2026), a delegation from Erbil Polytechnic University, headed by Prof. Dr. Edrees Muhammad Taher Harki, Rector of the University, and accompanied by Prof. Dr. Kihan Zrar Ghafoor, Dean of the College of Technology, visited the UAE General Consulate in Erbil. They were welcomed by Mr. Ahmed Hassan Ahmed Saliman Al Shahi, the new UAE Consul General.

 

The university delegation congratulated the new UAE Consul General on assuming his new position and wished him success. Both sides highlighted their relations. The UAE Consul General praised our people, noting that they have always had a positive and friendly view toward the UAE, and expressed the consulate’s readiness for full cooperation and coordination.
