At 20 of February Students of the Department of Nursing (Morning) of Erbil Medical Technical Institute conducted an activity in the day mixed primary school which consisted of presenting a seminar and teaching students how to prevent diseases and giving several health instructions.

On Thursday, the 16th February, 2023, the Rector of the University, Prof. Dr. Edrees Muhamad Tahir Harki received Asst. Prof. Dr. Raad Azam, a lecturer at the University of Texas at Arlington (Civil Engineering–Construction Specialist).
His visit aim to the Kurdistan Region and Erbil was to participate as the first speaker in the joint conference between the Erbil Polytechnic University and the TISHK International University (9th Engineering Scientific Conference in the fields of Civil Engineering and Computer Engineering).
In a meeting where the Vice Rector for Scientific Affairs and Higher Education was present, they discussed the establishment of a channel between the Erbil Polytechnic University and the University of Texas at Arlington for scientific and cultural cooperation and collaboration.
In the meeting they also decided to prepare for the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the two universities for cooperation and collaboration in the field of higher education, scientific research and scientific development, especially in the nursing and business administration fields, as well as academic and cultural exchange.
Accompanied by a delegation, the Erbil Polytechnic University Rector Prof. Dr. Edrees Muhamad Tahir Harki visited the Turkish Consulate General in Erbil where He was welcomed by the consulate. The delegation consisted of the Vice Rector for Scientific Affairs and Higher Education and the Director of International Relations Office of the University,
At the beginning of the meeting, our university Rector on behalf of himself and the Erbil Polytechnic University extended his condolences to Mr. Mevlut Yakut due to the earthquake on February 6 in Turkey and asked God’s forgiveness for those who died in the incident He wished the wounded.
The university Rector said “our university presidency and all colleges and institutes have launched a campaign to collect aid for the earthquake victims and in the next few days through the relevant parties in the Kurdistan Regional Government will deliver the aid.
The Turkish Consul General in Erbil, Mevlut Yakut expressed his gratitude towards the University Rector for his visit and expressing their condolences for the incident.
Mr. Mevlut Yakut praised the attitude of the Kurdistan Regional Government and its people for being the first country to help the victims of the earthquake in his country and affirmed that the Turkish government is very grateful to the Kurdistan Regional Government and the Kurdish people for their cooperation in sending aid and medical teams to the country.
Strengthening the relations between the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) universities in general and the Erbil Polytechnic University in particular with Turkish universities was another topic of the meeting. In this regard, he emphasized on facilitating opportunities for the higher education and participation in congresses and conferences and visits to Turkish universities.
They also discussed the issue of recognition of the Erbil Polytechnic University by the Institution of Higher Education in Turkey and the universities of that country, which was previously recognized as a Technical Education Foundation, and emphasized the need for close collaboration to complete this issue
