Prof. Dr. Edrees Muhamad Tahir Harki, the Rector of the Erbil Polytechnic University participated in the closing ceremony of the two courses of tourism guide and restoration of ancient monuments in Duhok.
In the closing ceremony of the course, which was opened for the employees of the two directorates of Archeology and Tourism in Duhok with the assistance of the International Labor Organization (ILO), UNESCO and the support of the European Union, the Governor Deputy of Duhok, the Vice Rector of the Erbil Polytechnic University for Scientific Affairs and Higher Education, the Director of the Archeology in Duhok, UNESCO, the European Union, and ILO representatives were present, the President of the Erbil Polytechnic University delivered a speech in the presence of UNESCO and the European Union.
In his speech, Prof. Dr. Edrees Muhamad Tahir Harki after expressing his pleasure to attend the ceremony, shed light on the duty of the university in serving the society and said: “In addition to providing knowledge and conducting scientific research, it is also the duty of the university to serve the society, contribute in solving its problems and play an effective role in improving the economic and social situation and security stability.”
Later, the Deputy Governor of Duhok, the participated representatives of the organizations in the ceremony, and the directorates of archeology and tourism of Duhok in different speeches expressed their appreciation towards the Erbil Polytechnic University for its hard working.
It is worth mentioning that Asst. Prof. Dr. Afaf Yousef Nuri and Mr. Fakhruddin Ahmad Aziz, teachers of the Erbil Technology College, Mr. Soran Bolus Butres and Mr. Mariwan Saber Khalid participated as the main trainers in conducting the courses. The Rector of the Erbil Polytechnic University thanked them and expressed his appreciation towards their great efforts.
At the end of the ceremony, certificates were distributed to the 35 participants of the course, which lasted for a month in theory and practice.
