On Sunday, the 26th of February, 2023, at the official invitation of the Consulate General of Armenia in the Kurdistan Region, on behalf of the EPU Rector, the Vice Rector for Scientific Affairs and Higher Education and the Dean of Mergasur Technical Institute, participated in the second anniversary of the opening of the Consulate General of the Republic of Armenia in Erbil.
The university delegation also participated in an exhibition of photographs, archives and historical documents about the composition of Kurdish, Yezidi and Assyrian ethnic groups in Armenia, which was shown as a similarity between Armenia and Kurdistan, where different communities have lived together for years regardless of tradition, religion or language.
The Kurdish and Armenian nations have suffered greatly throughout history and both peoples have been genocided.
It is worth mentioning that a significant number of senior government officials, political parties and consuls attended this ceremony.
Erbil Polytechnic University Hands Over The Donations Of The Campaign (We are with you) To Barzani Charity Foundation
Today, Sunday, 16th February, 2023, the Presidency of Erbil Polytechnic University, under the direct supervision of the University Rector, Prof. Edrees Muhamad Tahir Harki, handed over the donations of the campaign (We are with you) to the Barzani Charitable Foundation, so that they can help the victims of the earthquakes in the cities and regions of North and West Kurdistan.
The Rector and his delegation were warmly welcomed by Mr. Musa Ahmad, the President of Barzani Charity Foundation.
In a meeting, Prof. Dr. Edrees Muhamad Tahir Harki on behalf of himself and the Erbil Polytechnic University congratulated the president and the Barzani Charity Foundation staff for delivering aid to the victims of the earthquakes in Northern and Western Kurdistan.
The President of Erbil Polytechnic University also presented a bouquet of flowers to the President of Barzani Charity Foundation on the occasion of their return to the Kurdistan Region after going to Northern and Western Kurdistan.
After handing over the aid, the Barzani Charity Foundation President welcomed Prof. Dr. Edrees Mohamad Tahir Harki, the President of the Erbil Polytechnic University and his accompanying persons. Then, he spoke for the Media: “We are pleased to receive the donations of the Erbil Polytechnic University today. We would like to thank the staff of the university for their spirit of cooperation and trust in us. Be assured that your donations will reach their destination in the best possible way.”
Mr. Musa Ahmad also said: “We are employees and teachers are like a mountain behind their institution, we are proud of you from the bottom of our hearts, we thank you very much and will be at the service of the people who have been affected. Unfortunately, what happened in Turkish cities caused a great loss. Our organization regards it as a duty because the immortal Barzani belongs to all Kurdistan cities without distinction between the parts, Barzani says (it is a pride for humans to be servants of their nation), as long as your feelings are behind us, we can provide services.
Then Prof. Dr. Edrees Muhamad Tahir Harki, the President of the Erbil Polytechnic University, told the media: “After the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria, at the request of the Kurdistan Regional Council of Ministers, we launched a campaign to collect aid for the victims of the disaster”.
The President of Erbil Polytechnic University, referring to the role of Barzani Charitable Foundation in providing aid to the victims of the earthquake, said: “We appreciate the initiative of Barzani Charity Foundation that has undertaken an important and useful humanitarian work. The campaign “We Are With is a great achievement of all the teachers and employees of our university who participated in it with great pleasure and delivered their donations to us. Pride was all ours to supervise it and considered it our duty “. It is important that Barzani Charitable Foundation carries out humanitarian charity work outside the Kurdistan Region. In the earthquake disaster, it transferred domestic aid outside the Kurdistan Region in a new way.” We call this transfer of service to further protect the name, revolution and achievements of the Kurdistan Regional Government.”
His Excellency our University Rector called this action of the Barzani Charity Foundation a new way of revolution and showing humanity of the Kurdish people.
In the prospective of feeling responsibility towards the victims of the earthquakes in Northern and Western Kurdistan, the Presidency of Erbil Polytechnic University announced the campaign (We Are With You) on the 13th of February, 2023, which lasted for 10 days The aid was handed over to the Barzani Charity Foundation in a ceremony today.
On Thursday, the 23rd of February, 2023, a workshop for job seekers was held at the Cultural Center of the Erbil Polytechnic University in which the Vice Rectors, several members of the University Council, directors of the University Presidency and heads of departments were available.
This workshop is supervised by ILO and presented by Zryan Jamal Khader/Senior Project Officer in the Kurdistan Region/ILO and Hemn Hadi Pirdawd/Trainer. It aims to explain how to apply for job opportunities on the vocational guidance of the International Labor Organization for Job Seekers. It has also benefit for students to improve the quality and availability of employment services.
The workshop will help students understand the job market, define their goals, build their communication tools and media, use the internet and finally, successfully integrate into the new company.
It is worth mentioning that this workshop was organized by the International Labor Organization (ILO) for students of Iraqi and Kurdistan universities. This workshop was held at the Erbil Polytechnic University with the participation of more than 600 students in the second and fourth grades.
On Thursday, the 23rd of February, 2023 at the Erbil International Hotel, Erbil Polytechnic University jointly with the Salahaddin- Erbil University, and members of parliament held a conference on “Diagnostic Quality and Trust (DIQAT)”. In this event, the Rector of the University, Prof. Dr, Edrees Muhamad Tahir Harki, the Erbil Governor Umed Khoshnaw, The Prime Minister Consultant Dr. Karzan Karim, the Consultant of the Ministry of Higher Education Dr. Amir Chali, the Erbil Medical University Rector Prof. Dr. Nuradin Werdi and the Vice Rectors of the Erbil Polytechnic University and the Salahuddin-Erbil University, and parliament members were present.
The conference was organized by Erbil Polytechnic University and Salahaddin University–Erbil in collaboration with the Ministry of Health of the Kurdistan Regional Government and ECO Organization for Education and Community Health.
The conference began with a moment of standing and listening to the national anthem. Ladies and gentlemen, this is an important issue for every individual in society, because every individual needs medical examination. We believe that there are three important points related to this issue: how to train laboratory staff, the equipment quality imported from abroad They are used in analyses, so this forum should focus on these points.
What is related to the universities, colleges and institutes is how to train these cadre. We must be serious about how to train these cadres, and how to train these students together with the Ministry of Health. We as a university have paid special attention to it and have set up special programs for it.
