Erbil Polytechnic University Publishes the Final List of the Technical Institutes Top One Students’ Names and the Polytechnic System Applicants

After accepting the list of the Technical Institutes top one students’ names, Technical Institutes Alumni-(Evening Studies) and the Polytechnic System Applicants by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research with the Certificates number: (10105) and (10106) on 14th of October 2020, the General Directorate of the Registration has published the mentioned lists as below.

Erbil Polytechnic University Arranged The Final Tigris Project Dissemination Conference

Erbil Polytechnic University arranged the third (Final) concluding conference of the TIGRIS Project, which took place on Tuesday, October 13th, 2020. A group of the academic staff of the EPU attended this event, including the Rector of the university, Asst. Prof. Dr. Kawa Abdulkareem Sherwani, the Director of the International Office, Asst. Prof. Dr. Ranj Sirwan Abdullah, the Head of Grant and Fund Raising Unit, Dr. Selar Othman, and the Head of the Cultural Relations Unit of the EPU International Relations Office, Asst. Prof. Dr. Abdullah Omer Yassin,

During this event, the contents and the agenda of the final conference were mentioned, which was looking back on three years of the TIGRIS Project, presenting key outcomes of the project in its third year and having a joint discussion (round table) on the regional (KRI) and global outlook of internationalization. Following up on our efforts in supporting the reforms for the implementation of the Bologna Process in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq,  Prof. Robert Wagenaar from the University of Groningen participated as a key speaker. Previously, Prof. Wagenaar conducted the TUNING training workshop in March 2020. Professor Wagenaar gave his expert assessment of the ongoing modernization of the Higher Education sector in the Kurdistan Region, outlining requirements and potential future steps,  presenting the latest developments concerning the Bologna Process. Considering that Bologna-related reforms will be a key focus of Kurdish partners in the coming years, this would be of great interest to all. Therefore, Prof. Wagenaar’s inputs also include some time for Q&A sessions where Kurdish partner universities actively succeeded in the current and future themes.

It is worth to be mentioned that eight partner universities of Kurdistan, all the European partner universities in the TIGRIS project, and more than 184 universities participated in this virtual conference.

The Rector of the Erbil Polytechnic University Receives the International Committee of the Red Cross Delegation

On Monday 12th of October 2020, the Rector of the EPU, with the presence of both his assistants for Scientific Affairs and Administration and Finance Affairs and the International Relations Office Director, received the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Delegation.

In this meeting, the ICRC delegation, which consisted of Ms.Teresa Pawel and Ghassan Alus, discussed opening the Orthotics and Prosthetics Department in the Erbil Health Technical College and its preparation. They also discussed the obstacles they face during the process and how to solve them.

In a mutual project, both the EPU and ICRC will open the Orthotics and Prosthetics Department in the Erbil Health Technical College, which will be the first department all over Iraq. It is also supposed in the nearest future; both parties sign a Memorandum of Understanding to collaborate and cooperate in more projects.

The Rector of the Erbil Polytechnic University Rewarded Honorary Certificates to the Top Instructors of the Quality Assurance

On Wednesday 7th October 2020, with the Presence of several Deans of the colleges and institutes and both the Rector assistants for Scientific Affairs and Administration and Finance Asst. Prof. Dr. Kawa Abdulkareem Sherwani rewarded honorary certificates to the top three lecturers of the university and the top lecturers of the colleges and institutes of the Quality Assurance Process.

At the beginning of the celebration, the Rector delivered a speech. He expressed his appreciation and gratitude towards the successful instructors of the quality assurance process and hoped that they continue in their great achievements. He also mentioned that they wanted to invite the concerned academic staff to the process because of the pandemic situation and implementing the health instructions. He also thanked all the lecturers that obtained high scores in this process.

Later his Excellency Asst. Dr. Kawa Abdulkareem Sherwani started to honor the mentioned academic staff with honorary certificates.
