The Rector of Erbil Polytechnic University visits Loughborough University in the UK

Prof. Dr. Edrees Muhamad Tahir Harki, the Rector of the Erbil Polytechnic University, visited Loughborough University during an official visit to the UK with a high-level delegation of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

In a seminar, the Rector of Erbil Polytechnic University shed light on the history and the structure of the Erbil Polytechnic University, data and curricula of the university, as well as higher education programs and the number of higher education students in our university.

Then our university Rector, talked about the needs of the scientific departments that are new in our university and have been opened as the needs of the labor market and need more support.

Then the gift and logo of Loughborough University was presented to the Rector of the Erbil Polytechnic University and for his part, Prof. Idris Mohammed Tahir Harki presented the logo and gift of Erbil Polytechnic University to the Rector of Loughborough University.

Finally, the Rector of the Erbil Polytechnic University and the high-level delegation of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research visited the colleges, departments and laboratories of Loughborough University.

A panel discussion was held at Khabat Technical Institute

On Monday 2023/12/4 in (16 days campaign to combat violence against women), our institute in coordination with the office of combating domestic violence Khabat, organized a panel in the cafeteria hall of our institute. To each of (Lieutenant Lana Luqman Sheikh Mamondi – Head of Khabat Office for Combating Domestic Violence)and (Mullah Abdulkarim Yasin Hamwandi – preacher and member of the family reconciliation committee) and (Dr. Mawloud Khadra al-Qarni – Assistant Dean of Khabat Technical Institute).
Mr. Mohammed Khalil, the moderator of the panel, began the panel.


The panel discussed the current situation of Kurdistan women and the role of education in combating domestic violence,The role of social media in combating domestic violence against women and the role of religion and Kurdistan’s legislature in combating domestic violence against women and women.
Then the panelists asked questions to the guests and they answered them.

Dean of Mergaor Technical Institute visits the Indian Consulate in Erbil

On Monday, December 4, 2023, Dr. Talib Mohammed Sharif Omer, Dean of Mergasur Technical Institute visited the Indian Consulate in Erbil and was received by Mr. Madan Gopal, Consul General of India.

In the meeting, they discussed the relations between Mergasor Technical Institute and universities and colleges of India that Mr. Omer had visited.

Another topic of the meeting addressed is the opening an Indian corner in the institute library called India Library Corner which contains a significant number of important resources in the fields of medicine, nursing, agriculture, herbal medicine, beekeeping, administration, technolgy and English.

From their side, the new Indian Consul General in Erbil promised to continue their relations with the institute and further develop it and are ready for any assistance in the academic and scientific fields.

The University Rector visits the University of Nottingham in the United Kingdom

Prof. Dr. Edrees Muhamad Tahir Harki, the Rector of the Erbil Polytechnic University visited the University of Nottingham with a high-level delegation from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research included several advisors, general directors and presidents of Salahaddin, Sulaimani, Duhok and Garmian universities

The delegation, which arrived to the UK on Sunday, the 3rd of December, 2023 at the invitation of the British Council, met with the University of Nottingham on Monday and participated in several meetings.

During the meetings, Prof. Dr. Edrees Muhamad Tahir Harki shed light on the structure of the Erbil Polytechnic University and the scientific departments of our university that need more cooperation and support, especially those departments that are new and rare in the Kurdistan Region.

They also focused on  the internationalization of the university, participation, and partnership of our university in the fields of research, exchange of teachers and students, review of curricula and assistance to train teachers in the fields that our university needs.

Later, the President of the Erbil Polytechnic University and the General Secretary of the University of Nottingham presented gifts and the university logo to each other.
