The International Relations Office Of EPU Will Deliver An Online Seminar For An Italian Professor

The International Relations Office (IRO) of Erbil Polytechnic University (EPU) is delighted to host Professor Dr. Andrea Membretti, a senior researcher at EURAC Research in Bolzano, Italy. Professor Membretti is also a scientific coordinator of the European Commission Horizon 2020 Matilde Project.

He will present an online seminar on “A New Compulsion to Locality.” During the seminar, Prof. Membretti will discuss the role of rural and mountain areas in respect of mobility and proximity during and post COVID-19 pandemic.

This seminar is part of ongoing activities between EPU and EURAC Research. To strengthen international strategy, EPU has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with EURAC Research on 5th February 2020. The International Office of Erbil Polytechnic University would like to share the announcement of a scholarship 2021 offered by one of the highest university in Malaysia (Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM)). These Scholarships provide Masters and Doctoral programs, which are fully funded.

Erbil Polytechnic University Fulfilled The Virtual Reality Training Course Of The Global Solutions Sustainability Challenge

A group of students from Erbil Polytechnic University successfully completed the second cohort of the Global Solutions Sustainability Challenge (Virtual Reality Training Course), which started from 16/02/2020 till 11/04/2020. Fifty students from different colleges and institutes participated in the international virtual training alongside students from community colleges in the United States, universities of Jordan and Iraq. The program facilitated by Dr. Abdullah Omar Yassen, Dr. Dashne Azad Sedeeq, and Mr. Hawro Dlawar Ismael Masseh.

Global Solutions Sustainability Challenge has provided EPU students with the opportunity to develop the skills necessary to adapt to today’s workforce while giving them the ability to engage in the cultural exchange with partners from around the world and their communities. Erbil Polytechnic University is one of the three universities in Iraq who are part of this international program. It is worth to be mentioned that the International Relations Office of EPU supervises this program.

Global Solutions is funded by the Stevens Initiative, which is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State, with funding provided by the U.S. Government, which is administered by the Aspen Institute and implemented by IREX. It also supported by the Bezos Family Foundation and the government of Morocco and the United Arab Emirates.
