EPU participated a training course regarding Solar Energy

A number of Erbil polytechnic university’s academic staff with  a number of its alumni participated a training course for TOTs’ ( Training of Trainers) regarding Solar Energy in Erbil.

The training course was organised by Rwanga Foundation in coordination with GIZ which is funded by German Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development.

The training course lasted six days ( Jan9th-15th, 2019 ). Erbil Polytechnic University participated the project by nominating alumni in the field of Solar Energy, aiming to provide the chance for its alumni to become trainers in this field.

Furthermore,  EPU had also contributed  this project by participating  its professional staff, experienced in the area of Solar energy.

EPU attends the 25th Forum of The Union of Arab Universities in Egypt

On the 5th-8th December 2018, Dr Botan Majeed Asingar represented EPU and attended the 25th Forum of the Union of Arab Universities in Egypt.

This forum was held in Dahab -Egypt between 5 to 8 of December 2018 and was aimed at exchanging students between the universities in various specialties to get training and share experiences. Dr Botan stated that students have been successfully exchanged previously and will get exchanged in greater numbers in the upcoming years.

Erbil Polytechnic University participates in a workshop in Lebanon

A delegate from EPU headed by vice president for scientific affairs on 12th and 13th of December 2018, participated in a workshop on Reforming Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in Lebanon.

The workshop focused on the organisational structure of administration and the system of governance in TVET organisation.

It is decided in a near future such organisation is to be established. After the establishment of TVET organisation, a project specifically to support the reform of technical studies will be submitted to Iraqi government and parliament, and Kurdistan Region of Iraq to debate and accept.

The project financially is support by European Commission in collaboration with UNESCO which supervises and runs the project.
