On the 7^th of April, 2021, in the Conference Hall of the Erbil Polytechnic University’s Presidency (EPU), the University Rector Assist. Prof. Dr.Kawa Abdulkareem Sherwani awarded eleven English instructors the certificate of attendance in the TESOL Training Course.

The TESOL Training Course was performed from 25^th of January till 4^th of February 2021, was supervised by the College of Imperial English UK. The Course took eight days, 25^th of January until the 4^th of February. The Lecturers received homework on the 1^st of April to deliver to be evaluated. After the evaluation, all the English lecturers completed the training course, then rewarded for their performance.

The College of Imperial English UK in Birmingham/UK Country ran this programme through an online Zoom platform by two instructors Rafael Salguero and Dani Mundy, specialists in TESOL for foreigners that the English Language is not their first language.

This Training course consisted of eight sessions which were: Class Management, Lesson planning, How to teach Grammar, Word, Speaking, Writing, Listening, Reading, Knowledge about the difference in the way of speaking in the countries that speak in the English language, The Difference between General English and Academic English in Writing, The Sources of Learning, The way of Teaching language for the classes that contain many students.

The aim behind TESOL Training Course was to get more familiar with teaching the English Language for the ones that the English language is not their native language and to get information about culture, knowledge exchange, feedback, and the way they follow and use it for teaching Students and learners to get acquainted with Kurdistan culture.

It is worth to be mentioned that the training course is within the agreement signed between the EPU and Imperial English UK College.

On Monday 5^th of April, 2021, the Rector of EPU received a delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).

In the meeting, the Administrative Assistant of the Rector, Dr. Jawdat  Jafaar Khatab,  a number of the EPU presidency managers, and both the Head of Physiotherapy and Prosthetics departments in the  Erbil Technical Health College were available. They talked about the cooperation and collaboration offered by this organization at the time of opening the Prosthetics department successfully.

His Excellency the Rector of the EPU Assist Professor Dr.Kawa Abdulkareem Sherwani honored and rewarded Therese Powel, PRP manager at the ICRC by offering her the Honorary Certificate and EPU Plaktel, for her constant collaboration and coordination at the time of establishing the Prosthetics department at the Erbil Technical Health College.

To celebrate the Kurdistan March Rising Memories of 1991, Erbil Polytechnic University opened a Football League for the morning and evening shift students of Shaqlawa Technical Institute and Environment Protectors. In this league, seven teams participated. The Shaqlawa Technical College Dean, Dr. Abdulkhaliq, the Officer of Safin Branch of the Kurdistan Union Students, attended this final league.

On the 5^th of April 2021, the final game was played by Environment Protectors and First-Year Evening Students of Disease Analysis Department, who scored 2-1 galls. The Environment Protectors became the champion of this league, and they have been rewarded by the Shaqlawa Technical College Dean and guests of the event.

On the 25^th  of April, 2021The Center of Pedagogy Training and Academic Development at Erbil Polytechnic University will start a new pedagogy training course. Application to the training course can be made online via this link: Online Application.

Passport, last academic degree, English proficiency test certificate, a support letter from the place of work.

Course registration fees: 500,000 ID. The permanent staff of EPU will pay only 350,000 ID only.

Participants: This course is exclusively for those who have not obtained a scientific title yet, and they need this course for this purpose.

Course duration: The period of the training course is six months
