Erbil Polytechnic University participated in Pedagogy Course in Finland

Under his excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research of Kurdistan Region as a part of Reform Process in Methods of Pedagogy at the universities. Dr. Aras Qadir Khoshnaw and Dr. Khalil Hasan Younis as a representative of the EPU participated in a modern teaching method course (pedagogy) at the HAMK university in Finland.

The reform process of pedagogy with Finland is one of the important projects of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research which 33 academic staff in public and private universities in the Kurdistan Region participated in the reform of teaching method in collaboration with HAMK university in Finland.

The duration of the course is six months, the first six weeks were in HAMK university in Finland. The other four months is run in the Kurdistan Region supervised by the Finnish Experts. After the completion of the course, the participants will monitor and supervise the teaching methods held in the Kurdistan region universities. This is done to change the infrastructure of classical teaching method into modern and taking scientific step towards pedagogy process.

The course started on 1st of November 2018 in Finland and ended on 15th December 2018.

EPU signed a memorandum of understanding with HAMK university

As a part of Erbil polytechnic university, represented by Dr. Aras Qadir khoshnaw and Dr. Khalil Hasan Younis, signed a memorandum of understanding with HAMK university in Finland.

This agreement came within the plan of the university to build strong academic and technical relationships with the worldwide Universities.

The Convention includes the following points:

(1) Exchange of faculty staff, academic and  administrative.
(2) Exchange of students, summer school students, etc.
(3) Conducting collaborative research projects.
(4) Conducting scientific conferences.
(5) Conducting lectures and organizing symposiums.
(6) Exchange of academic  resources and material.
(7) Postgraduate studies.
(8) Promoting other academic cooperation as mutually agreed.

EPU is always trying to strengthen scientific relationships with the international Universities. Aiming to improve the level of education.

The career development center at EPU established its advisory board

The career development center at Erbil polytechnic university established its advisory board following a workshop on CDC Development supported by UNESCO with the participation of Professor Brain Stane from the UK.

The Advisory board includes leaders from the job marker, special stakeholders, academics, staff, and students. Furthermore, the  board will  come up with recommendations as to what is the best way to prepare the students for the job market.

EPU participates implementing Bologna process system

On Monday 10/12/2018, A delegation from EPU headed by the University’s rector Dr. Kawa sherwani, participated a workshop organised by the quality assurance department at the ministry of higher education and scientific researches in collaboration with the university of Charmo.


The aim of the workshop was to discuss implementing Bologna process system in Kurdistan region Universities.
Now more than 48 Universities in Europe depending on the system and two in Kurdistan regional. EPU is looking forward to implement the system and believes that, it is solving a many issues and helps to improve the quality of higher education at the University.
