Erbil Polytechnic University and Ministry of Peshmerga In collaboration with Coalition Forces pronounce a Project

On Sunday 25th of October 2020, the Ministry of Peshmerga delegation, accompanied by Coalition Forces Counselors visited the Presidency of the Erbil Polytechnic University that the EPU Rector Asst. Prof. Dr. Kawa Abdulkareem Sherwani and the International Relations Office Director, Asst. Prof Dr. Ranj Sirwan Abdulla warmly received them.

In this meeting, both parties discussed the works and activities of the Ministry of Peshmerga in which they decided Coalition Forces in collaboration and coordination with the EPU review Commanders College program and open training courses to the Peshmerga Officers within the named ministry activities.

For this reason, Dr. Abdullah Omer Yassen, the collaborator of this project, said: “at the beginning, our university will deliver a training course that lasts for one week. This course will be about Project Management for 22 officers who work in the Reform Directorate of the Peshmerga Ministry and will receive Certificates.”

The Peshmerga Ministry Delegation consisted of Brigadier General, Hazhar, Relations, and Collaboration Directorate, Brigadier Dler Omer Miran from Reform Directorate, Lieutenant Colonel  Shaxawan Salam, and Coalition Forces members consisted of Lieutenant Colonel Benjamin (German Forces for Capacity Strengthening in Iraq), Lieutenant Colonel Yavis, Major Pitter, and Colonel Bur Trend from Netherlands Consulate.

Erbil Polytechnic University Delivers Several Workshop About ECTS Database

ECTS Database System Committee of Bologna Process at the Erbil Polytechnic University presented a workshop series in the colleges and institutes of our university on 18-20th of October 2020. In these workshops, the departments and committee heads, branch heads, and committee members were available.

 The trainers presented the way of creating scoreboards, sending students’ scores to the scoreboards. Then, they talked about the subject backup by the students if the student has remained lecture in a semester. Also, they discussed the way of transferring students from a semester to another.

The Committee of ECTS Database System of Bologna Process consists of Mr. Yassin, Mr. Rebwar, Mr. Goran, Mr. Yousif Khorshid, Mr. Dyar, Mr. Ibrahim, and Mr. Nihad.

Erbil Polytechnic University Publishes the Final List of the Technical Institutes Top One Students’ Names and the Polytechnic System Applicants

After accepting the list of the Technical Institutes top one students’ names, Technical Institutes Alumni-(Evening Studies) and the Polytechnic System Applicants by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research with the Certificates number: (10105) and (10106) on 14th of October 2020, the General Directorate of the Registration has published the mentioned lists as below.

Erbil Polytechnic University Arranged The Final Tigris Project Dissemination Conference

Erbil Polytechnic University arranged the third (Final) concluding conference of the TIGRIS Project, which took place on Tuesday, October 13th, 2020. A group of the academic staff of the EPU attended this event, including the Rector of the university, Asst. Prof. Dr. Kawa Abdulkareem Sherwani, the Director of the International Office, Asst. Prof. Dr. Ranj Sirwan Abdullah, the Head of Grant and Fund Raising Unit, Dr. Selar Othman, and the Head of the Cultural Relations Unit of the EPU International Relations Office, Asst. Prof. Dr. Abdullah Omer Yassin,

During this event, the contents and the agenda of the final conference were mentioned, which was looking back on three years of the TIGRIS Project, presenting key outcomes of the project in its third year and having a joint discussion (round table) on the regional (KRI) and global outlook of internationalization. Following up on our efforts in supporting the reforms for the implementation of the Bologna Process in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq,  Prof. Robert Wagenaar from the University of Groningen participated as a key speaker. Previously, Prof. Wagenaar conducted the TUNING training workshop in March 2020. Professor Wagenaar gave his expert assessment of the ongoing modernization of the Higher Education sector in the Kurdistan Region, outlining requirements and potential future steps,  presenting the latest developments concerning the Bologna Process. Considering that Bologna-related reforms will be a key focus of Kurdish partners in the coming years, this would be of great interest to all. Therefore, Prof. Wagenaar’s inputs also include some time for Q&A sessions where Kurdish partner universities actively succeeded in the current and future themes.

It is worth to be mentioned that eight partner universities of Kurdistan, all the European partner universities in the TIGRIS project, and more than 184 universities participated in this virtual conference.
