The university Rector welcomed the director of migration and refugees and responded to the crises in Erbil province.

Prof. Dr. Edrees Muhamed Tahir Harki, the Rector of Erbil Polytechnic University, welcomed Engineer Naz Jalal, the director of migration and refugees and crisis response in Erbil province, and Sahar Talib, the representative of the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD) in the Kurdistan Region, along with some of their staff. At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Azad Hassan Qadir, the Vice Rector for Administrative and Financial Affairs, Dr. Botan Majid Ahmed, the Vice Rector for Scientific Affairs and Higher Education, Dr. Sarsam Khalil Shawani, the Dean of the Technical Administration College in Erbil, Dr. Hataw Karim, the Director of the Career Development Center, Dr. Abdullah Omer Yasin, the Director of International Relations, Mr. Behzad Helmi Hussein, the Director of the Rector’s Office, and Sarmand Hamid Nasreddin, the Director of Administration and Human Resources, were present.

Prof. Dr. Edrees Muhamed Tahir Herki welcomed the guests and expressed his happiness about the visit of the director of migration and refugees and the representative of ICMPD to the university.The visiting team thanked the Rector for arranging the meeting. They also gave a brief explanation about their work and activities. They stated that the purpose of their visit was to coordinate a series of seminars at the university’s colleges and institutes. These seminars aimed to raise students’ awareness about the risks of illegal migration. Additionally, they planned to organize a special course on CV writing and job searching, which would be offered to university students to help them find jobs after graduation. They also requested to benefit from the experience and expertise of university professors in this field.The Rector confirmed his support for their ideas and initiatives. He emphasized that a university’s role is not only to educate students but also to help solve social problems and contribute to the community.He also mentioned that Erbil Polytechnic University had worked on similar projects before. Last year, they implemented a project to support refugees in the Kurdistan Region by offering special language courses to help them develop their skills.

Erbil Polytechnic University and the International University of Rome focus on strengthening their cooperation.

university delegation, led by Asst.Prof.Dr. Botan Majid Ahmed, Vice Rector for Scientific Affairs and Higher Education, and Asst.Prof. Dr. Abdullah Omer Yasin, Director of International Relations, held a meeting in Duhok as part of the RISE project announcement. They met with a delegation from Roma International University in Italy, led by Alishia Maria Robu, the university Rector, and Luciano Nenido, Vice Rector for International Relations.

During the meeting, they discussed strengthening relations between the two universities in all fields and working towards more international cooperation for Erbil Polytechnic University. The Roma International University delegation expressed their readiness for more coordination with Erbil Polytechnic University. They announced that, in the near future, they would carry out several joint projects with the university.

Both delegations agreed to continue their relations and take practical steps on the decisions made during the meeting.

 

A university delegate is attending the annual conference of the Union of Universities of the Middle East.

A university delegation, led by Asst.Prof. Dr. Botan Majid Asinger and ,Asst, Prof,Dr. Abdullah Omer Yasin, attended the annual meeting of the Union of Mediterranean Universities (UNIMED) from February 18 to 20 in Brussels, Belgium.

During the meeting, they talked about improving relationships and increasing the scientific and academic abilities of the member universities. They also discussed developing human resources and making university strategies, especially for international cooperation.

They also spoke about connecting universities and study programs with the job market and society.The delegation actively joined the meeting’s activities, reviewed past work, and planned for the future. They also had several meetings with universities from the Mediterranean and North Africa.

It is important to mention that Erbil Polytechnic University was an active member of UNIMED and took part in most of its activities.

 

A memorandum of understanding was signed between Erbil Polytechnic University and the Lebanese French University

A delegation from Erbil Polytechnic University, led by Prof. Dr. Edrees Muhamed Tahir Harki, the University Rector, visited the Lebanese French University. They were welcomed by Dr. Abdulqader Aziz Naqshbandi, the Rector of the Lebanese French University.

At the beginning of the meeting, several officials from both universities attended, including .Asst. Prof.Dr. Botan Majid Ahmed, Deputy Rector for Scientific Affairs, Asst. Prof. Dr. Yousif Mustafa Rasul, Deputy Rector for Student Affairs, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Abdullah Omer Yassin, Director of International Relations. Other members included Behzad Helmi Hussein, Office Director of the University Rector, and representatives from the Lebanese French University, such as Dr. Omer Nuredini, Dr. Bnar Farid Ibrahim, Dr. Rozhan Ibrahim Dzayi, Talaat Yahya Bajger, and Dr. Tavan Talaat Bajger.

Prof. Dr. Edrees Muhamed Tahir Harki congratulated Dr. Abdulqader Aziz Naqshbandi on his new position as university rector and wished him success.

During the meeting, they discussed the importance of cooperation between public and private universities, particularly between Erbil Polytechnic University and the Lebanese French University, to enhance academic standards.

Prof. Dr. Edrees Muhamed Tahir Harki emphasized the need for coordination and collaboration among all universities. He stated that in the future, both universities would work together to develop higher education programs.

At the end of the meeting, a memorandum of understanding was signed between Erbil Polytechnic University and the Lebanese French University by Prof. Dr. Edrees Muhamed Tahir Harki and Dr. Abdulqader Aziz Naqshbandi.
