Today on Monday 2023/10/2, under the light of implementing the third mission of university, Dr. Talib Omer, the Dean of Mergasor Technical Institute alongside assistant Dean and a number of the university teachers, department chairs, employees students and community members, certificates of participation were awarded to the participants for their successful completion of the course. Certificates of appreciations were also provided to the teachers of the training course.
It should be highlighted that the course was held for (1) month from 2023/8/1 to 2023/9/1 in the campus of Mergasor Technical Institute. The training course entitled (Summer Training Course for Learning English Language and Improving Skills).
Dean of Mergasor Technical Institute participates in a workshop
On Thursday and Friday, September 28-29, 2023, Dr. Talib Mohammed Sharif Omer the Dean of Mergasor Technical Institute-Erbil Polytechnic University participated in an intensive workshop entitled “Global Solutions Sustainable Challenge”. For a number of universities. The workshop lasted for two days in Erbil International Hotel (Sheraton Hotel) and was dedicated to an eight-week program to connect students from Iraqi and Jordanian universities with students from US universities. The purpose of the workshop was to create the best sustainable business solutions issues. Throughout the completions, students will develop the skills to collaborate across different cultures, solve problems, team working, and innovative business concept. This program (The Global Solutions Sustainability Challenge) is run under the Stevens Initiative, which is implemented by IREX, is a virtual business competition that connects college students in the United States, Jordan, and Iraq on binational teams to virtually collaborate on a sustainable solution to local challenges related to the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Bi-national teams engage during an eight-week period through the design thinking process to ideate a sustainable solution to real needs in their local communities. Global Solutions uses virtual exchange to improve mutual understanding and problem-solving skills among students. Throughout the challenge, participants develop workforce skills and network with industry professionals. Global Solutions is implemented by IREX and is supported by the J. Christopher Stevens Virtual Exchange Initiative (JCSVEI). JCSVEI is a U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs program administered by the Aspen Institute.
The Dean of Mergasor Technical Institute Receives the Vice President of Mediterranean Universities Union
On Tuesday 26/09/2023, Dr. Talib Mohammed Sharif, Dean of Mergasur Technical Institute along with Dr. Najib Thoma , the Vice Rector of EPU for Scientific Affairs received Prof. Dr .Carol Cerite, the Vice President of UNIMED at the Presidency of Erbil Polytechnic University. In the meeting, they discussed the cooperation and joint academic collaboration between the University of Spienza in Rome and the Polytechnic University of Erbil, as the first step, working to connect two similar departments between the two universities. They put emphasis on the medical departments in both universities.
During the meeting, both sides agreed to prepare a proposal on the Erasmus KA1 program for the exchange of students and academic staff supported by the European Commission Union.
Running a workshop entitled “Towards Undergraduate study” in Mergasor Technical Institute
On Wednesday 2023/8/23 in the presence of Asst. Prof. Amir Chali, advisor to the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research; Dr. Yousef Mustafa, Vice Rector of Erbil Polytechnic University, Mr. Ghafoor AhmadMullah Suwar, Governor of Mergasor District, Mr. Akara, Director General of Education of Soran Administration, alongside a number of government official of the region and students of grade (12) high school.

First of all, on behalf of the Deanery of Mergasur Technical Institute-Erbil Polytechnic University, I would like to warmly welcome you; We are pleased that a part from our institute continues to follow up and fulfill its duties, it assists all aspects communities. This workshop is conducted with the assistance, coordination and support of the office of Mr. Mullah Mustafa Barzani as entitled (Towards undergraduate study), which is dedicated to explaining high education system to school graduates.
Ladies and Gentleman: The mission of universities and colleges is not only to teach, conduct scientific research and innovation, but also has another mission, which is to serve all areas of society; In the sense of how to prepare individuals to achieve positive change in their lives and prepare them to face new developments and events. Therefore, in this regard, Mergasor Technical Institute always tries to benefit all sections of society and vice versa, take advantage of the capacities and great ideas of individuals of the community. As matter of fact, we want to be a proactive part of society and be involved in current issues, as this workshop is the result of this way of thinking.
Dear Attendees: The purpose of this workshop is to provide assistance and clarity to students who have graduated from grade 12, so that they know how to move towards university and how to deal with this important stage of their lives and prepare themselves for it; There is a reality that we all should know. Having clarity on how to deal with university and how to prepare for it plays a key role in achieving success in university education. Therefore, conducting such workshops is an important.
Therefore, I would like to thank all those who have played a role in organizing this event; In particular, and above all, we would like to thank the office of Mr. Mullah Mustafa Barzani, who, as always, has been assisting us and supporting us in continuing our academic activities.

The aim of the workshop was to provide assistance and clarity about the higher education system, how to study and how to fill out the application form. The workshop has three parts: Part one was delivery by Dr. Amir Chali under the title (Higher Education System in the Kurdistan Region) The second part was presented by the Dean of Mergasor Technical Institute Dr. Talib omer entitled (Discovering potential self-interest and how to study in Higher Education) The third part was presented by M. Hoshman Ni’mat under the title (How to fill out the Zankoline form) then some necessary clarifications were given about the system and guidelines of Zankoline by Dr. Sassam Shuani, Director of General Registry of Erbil Polytechnic University. At the end of the workshop, a certificate of appreciation was presented by Dr. Yousef and awards were presented by the Dean of Mergasor Technical Institute.
