A seminar about introducing the “Innovation Challenge Bootcamp” program for the American University of Kurdistan – Duhok was held for our university students.

Within the framework of focusing on special programs to improve the academic level of our university students, the American University of Kurdistan – Duhok held a seminar about introducing a special program. This program aims to support talented students, develop their skills, and prepare them to face social challenges.

During the seminar, they introduced the program, which included several fields such as technical studies, health techniques, agriculture techniques, renewable energy technology, and banking services.

The university invited students to join the seminar, especially second and third-year students from engineering, health and medical sciences, technology, international marketing, and language departments.

At the end of the seminar, 42 students were selected to join a two-week course on project implementation in the mentioned fields. The American University of Kurdistan – Duhok covered all the program expenses.

The seminar was held in the Bona Hall at the Enlightenment Center in Camp 1 of our university on Monday, 10/2/2025, at 12:30 PM.

The Erbil Polytechnic University hosted a seminar in Kurdish about building trust in educational and higher education institutions.

On Monday, 3rd February 2025, Erbil Polytechnic University hosted a seminar. Prof. Dr. Edrees Muhamad Tahir Harki, the Rector of the university, Dr. Mohammed Hussein Kalari, Head of the Quality Assurance Department at the Ministry of Higher Education, the Assistant Rector for Scientific and Higher Education Affairs, and some university professors from Kurdistan attended the event. The Ministry of Higher Education organized this seminar for all public and private universities in Kurdistan.”

The seminar was about accreditation for education institutions in Kurdistan.

At the beginning of the seminar, Dr. Mohammed Hussein Kalari welcomed the respected guests. Then, Dr. Hunar Issa, a member of the Kurdistan Accreditation Board and the American University of Kurdistan Board, presented the seminar.

 

At the end of the seminar, the floor was opened for questions and discussions from the university participants.

Honor and praise

On Wednesday, February 5, 2025, in the presence and supervision of the Dean of Erbil Technical College of Engineering, Prof. Ayad Zaki Sabir and accompanied by Assistant Dean of College Dr. Bazian Younis Mohiuddin, Dean of Computer and Information Engineering Technical College Prof. Kayhan Zrar Ghafoor and current and former heads of departments, participated in a special event organized by the Department of Information Systems With the efforts and organization of the Head of Department Mr. Dr. Media Ali Ibrahim and in the presence of teachers and engineers of the Department of Information Systems
This event was dedicated to honoring and praising Prof. Bzhar Khader Hussein who retired after many years of service to the university and college and the Department of Information Systems, his efforts and scientific and academic skills were appreciated by the deans of both colleges He was awarded a certificate of appreciation and wished him safety and long life

On the anniversary of the martyrs of February 1st, our university organized a panel under the title Terrorism Does Not Differentiate between Us.

On Sunday, February 2nd, 2025, with the attendance of Omed Khoshnaw, the Governor of Erbil, and under the supervision and presence of Prof. Dr. Edrees Muhamed Tahir Herki, the Rector of Erbil Polytechnic University, a panel titled “Terrorism Did Not Differentiate between Us” was held in commemoration of the martyrs of February 1st. The event was also attended by the university’s Vice Rector, several members of the university council, and a number of party and government officials.

The ceremony took place in the hall of our university’s Cultural Centre. At the beginning, the university Rector gave a speech. After welcoming the guests, he explained that the purpose of this event was not just to remember the past but to learn from it and take lessons from the struggles and sacrifices of our people.

 The Rector of the university said: “The event of February 1st was one of the most painful events in the modern history of the Kurdistan Region. It showed that the enemies of the Kurdish people did not differentiate between any religious, ethnic, national, ideological, or political groups. Therefore, it was important to remember this event as a national lesson for students, youth, and everyone to learn from the past, protect the homeland today, and plan for the future.”

 

On February 1st, 2004, which coincided with the first day of Eid al-Adha, in both the second conference hall of the Kurdistan Democratic Party and the third hall of the Kurdistan National Union in Erbil, as a result of two terrorist attacks, more than a hundred people were martyred, and hundreds of others were injured.
