On Tuesday, January 28th, 2025, Dr. Edrees Muhamad Tahir Harki, the Rector of Erbil Polytechnic University, welcomed a delegation from the “University Institute.”
During the meeting, which was attended by some members of the Erbil Polytechnic University Council, the delegation members included Dr. Sally Bryant and Mr. Rick Page.
The meeting took place at the Rector of Erbil Polytechnic University, where the discussion focused on the importance of developing scientific capabilities and enhancing coordination between both institutions to advance the academic level of universities.
On Wednesday, January 29, 2025, in the presence and supervision of the Dean of Erbil Technical College of Engineering, Prof. Ayad Zaki Sabir and accompanied by the Vice Dean of the College Mr. Bazian Younis Mohiuddin, in the presence of the College Council, participated in a special event organized by the Department of Road Engineering with the efforts and organization of the Head of Department Mr. Bafrin Chalabi Zero In the presence of teachers and engineers of the department Roads. This event was dedicated to honoring and praising Prof. Fares Mohammed Jassim who retired after many years of service to the university, college and road department, his efforts and scientific and academic skills were appreciated by the dean of the college very carefully and in the words of scientific service He has done his job and served well Special thanks and honors were given to him, then the speeches of each of the heads of previous departments expanded and beautified the event On this occasion, certificates of appreciation were awarded to each of the teachers of the Department of Road Engineering who have been promoted to special research or receiving master’s and doctoral degrees for each of them: Prof. Ghafoor Hamdamin Ahmad, Dr. Bakhtiar Naseh Mohammed, Dr. Skala Hatim Mohammed , Dr. Ismail Ta Farhan, M.Y. Helmet Burhan Najm, wish them further success in their continuous career of science.
On Monday, January 27th, 2025, a workshop on candidacy and leadership took place for lecturers and heads of departments from all colleges of our university Prof.Dr. Edrees Muhammed Tahir Harki, the rector of Erbil Polytechnic University; Dr. Botan Majid Asinger, the Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs and Postgraduate Studies; and Dr. Ranj Sirwan, the General Director of the Scientific Research Center, attended the workshop.
At the start of the workshop, the Rector of the University gave a speech. He welcomed the guests and said that they had worked with the workshop presenters before. He also said that this time, in a different way, they wanted to gain more benefits in leadership and administration
The Rector of the University emphasized that this workshop was not only for professors but also for faculty and university council members, especially department heads, as they played an important role in university changes. They were the bridge between students and professors.
In the end, he hoped that the participants benefited from the experience of Dr. Sally and Mr. Rick, who came from the United States to lead the workshop.
Dr. Sally and Mr. Rick scientifically presented the workshop, discussing key aspects of effective leadership, evaluation methods, and leadership skill development.
The goal of this workshop was to improve the leadership skills of professors and department heads, which was an important step in Polytechnic University’s efforts to enhance academic standards and advance the education sector.
