On Sunday, the 23rd of October 2022, a delegation of the Erbil Polytechnic University headed by the University Rector Prof. Dr. Edrees Muhamad Tahir Harki attended a workshop about Strengthening TVET-Construction Programmes in Higher Education Technical Institutions in Iraq that will continue for two days in the Best Inn Erbil Hotel.
Within the activities of the TVET-2 Project that was funded by the European Union and implemented by UNESCO, in collaboration with the Government of Iraq, the UNESCO Office in Iraq, UNHABITAT, and ILO are implementing the European Union-funded projects; “Jobs Creation through Technical and Vocational Education System Strengthening and Labour Market Linkages – TVET phase II”, Reviving Mosul and Basra Old Cities project, and Support to Livelihoods through Cultural Heritage Development project.
The workshop aimed to provide a platform to share what has been accomplished within TVET Reform Project Phase I through themes covered by those projects, increase the capacity of and capabilities of individuals and institutions to develop and deliver high-quality inspiring TVET programmes in the construction sector and strengthen knowledge and improve our understanding of the projects outcomes and remaining gaps in the construction sector for TVET professionals and Technical Universities, and some further subjects that will be covered within the two days of the workshop.
