A Delegation of Kurdistan Regional Government Participates in Annual International Conference of International Non-Governmental Organization SPARK

A delegation of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) consisted of Asst. Prof. Dr. Edrees Muhamad Tahir Harki Erbil Polytechnic Rector, Dr. Hemn Mirani, General Director of the Interior Ministry Divan, and Dr. Muhamad Kalari, the General Director of the Supervision and Quality Assurance in the Ministry of the Higher Education and Scientific Research attended the ninth edition of the SPARK International Organization Annual Conference “Reimagine Jobs.

The international non-governmental organization SPARK presented the ninth edition of its annual IGNITE Conference on Monday, the 13th of September 2022, in Amsterdam. The conference attracted entrepreneurs, NGOs, governments, policy-makers, incubators, philanthropists, and over 40 organizations from across fragile and conflict-affected regions of the Middle East and Africa. The international non-governmental organization SPARK formally invited the KRG delegation.

The Annual IGNITE International Conference is a worldwide event focusing on job creation for youths, women, and refugees in emerging economies. The organizers from the Dutch international development NGO, SPARK, chose this year’s theme, “Reimagine Jobs,” because of the multiple intersectional problems facing youth today. 

In 2019, Erbil Polytechnic University signed an agreement with the international non-governmental organization SPARK to implement a program for migrants, poor people, and university alums to develop human resources to help them gain job opportunities.

Erbil Polytechnic University, the partner in implementing the SPARK projects in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region jointly with SPARK, opened many training courses in capacity building and leadership for our university alums and refugees.
