Shaqlawa Technical College Opened First Aid Training Course

The Disease Analysis Department of Shaqlawa Technical College managed First Medical Support Course for the accident time that started on the 8th of August 2021 that continued for four days.

In this course, thirty academic and administrative staff participated Disease Analysis Department supervised that. Dr. Muayad Ahmed Mahmud delivered the course who carries HSE British in the First Aid specialty at the work field.

This training course, in detail, presented important information about first aid at the workplace theoretically and practically, which wasvcompleted on Thursday 12th of August 2021, from which the attendees took great benefits.

Erbil Technical Administration College Opens A Training Course For Media Techniques Department Lecturers

On the 11th of August 2021, Erbil Technical Administration College Opened an online training course for Media Techniques Department Lecturers, which included several media subjects.

This course was presented online Asst. Prof. Dr. Bahat Hasib Gharadaghi, Asst. Prof. Dr. Abdullah Omer Yassin and Dr. Sirwan Omer Majidand supervised by Mr. Azhi Akram Aziz. It continued for five days, according to the specified schedule.

The Rector of Erbil Polytechnic University received US General Consulate Erbil

On Thursday 12th of August 2021, the Rector of the Erbil Polytechnic University, Asst. Prof. Dr. Kawa Abdulkareem Sherwani received Robert Palladino, the new U.S. General-Erbil Consul. His accompanying delegation consisted of the Public Affairs Officer Gina Cabrera and the Public Affairs Officer Assistant. In this meeting, Rector’s Assistant for Scientific Affairs, the Rector’s Assistant for the Students Affairs, the Scientific Affairs, the International Relations Office Director, and the Curriculum Program Director were present.

In the beginning, the EPU Rector welcomed the delegation guests. In brief, he talked about the university and clarified its plan. He also expressed his appreciation towards building a great relationship between our university and American universities through the U.S. General Consulate-Erbil. His Excellency Dr. Kawa asked the delegation to help the EPU in the logistics field and support the university alumni to find jobs.

From his side, U.S. General Erbil Consul Robert Palladino expressed his pleasure about his visit. He said he would be pleased to attend conferences, scientific events, and the graduation celebration. He also mentioned that this was his first visit to the Kurdistan Region universities, and the Erbil Polytechnic University is the first university he has visited.

In the second part of his visit, Mr. Robert Palladino met with several EPU students from different departments in which he was astonished by the students’ scientific and charismatic characteristics.

Erbil Polytechnic University participates in Global Youth Leadership Academy

Erbil Polytechnic University participates in the Global Youth Leadership Academy event, which will be delivered on the virtual digital program due to the pandemic virus from 16th to 27th August 2021. Our university will attend this global program with five students from Erbil Technical Health College, Erbil Technical Administration College, and Erbil Technical Engineering College.

On this program, twenty UN Official and Company Representatives, 1,200 alumni, 500 young leaders from 30 countries will be available to encourage youth to become systems thinkers, change-makers, innovators, and global leaders in the future. The program of GYLA includes UN System and Youth Empowerment, Thought Leadership, Global Mindset, and Action Competence.

The Global Youth and Leadership Academy (GYLA) was established in 2016 with top Chinese universities & UN Agencies. The youth-led platform provides young people with the opportunity to learn and exchange knowledge and experiences with global leaders. GYLA brings young people together to discuss the role of youth in addressing the challenges of the pandemic and commitment to the SDGs with global leaders.

To shed more light on this event, it is worth mentioning that in collaboration with M3TRIX Academy, UN agencies, and leading universities, GYLA has developed the online program eGYLA for young people who aspire to be future leaders and social innovators. They will learn how to address the post-pandemic futures and contribute to realizing the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

Upon completion, the attendees will receive a certificate issued by GYLA in collaboration with UN partner agencies and M3TRIX. Outstanding participants will get a recommendation to improve their career opportunities and will be able to engage in future projects with international academic and corporate partners.
