On Monday, the 16^th of October, 2023, Prof. Dr. Edrees Muhamad Tahir Harki, the Rector of the Erbil Polytechnic University, received a delegation from Warith International Foundation for Technical Education in Karbala.

In a meeting where the Vice Rector for Scientific Affairs and Higher Education was present, the Rector welcomed the guest delegation and briefly talked about the university, colleges and institutes as well as the number of students and teachers and types of degrees and specialties.

In return, the guest delegation expressed their pleasure with their visit and building relationship between the two sides and requested for signing an agreement of understanding between our university and the foundation in the future in order to work together and cooperate with each other.

On Monday the 16^th of October 2023, Prof. Dr. Edrees Muhamad Tahir Harki, the Rector of the Erbil Polytechnic University received the staff of Cisco Academy, which consisted of Mr. Soran Abdulrahman, Ms. Media Ali, and Ms. Diana Haider.

In the meeting both sides discussed the work and collaboration between them and the steps to build three advanced and modern scientific laboratories. The equipment and supplies will be prepared by the academy with the financial support of the US government.

This project includes the construction of three scientific laboratories in the field of communication for the Erbil Polytechnic University, and will be part of the higher education and scientific research process to award academic degrees in the field of cyber security and US technology in the Kurdistan Region.

Through these laboratories, both the public and private sectors will be able to prepare skilled workers in line with the needs of the labor market.

It is worth mentioning that the Cisco Academy was established in coordination with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the US Consulate General with IREX in Erbil. The academy will offer Cisco courses to students and trainees and award them Cisco international certificates

With the completion of the project, these laboratories will become one of the most advanced laboratories in the field of delivery in the region.

At the end of the meeting, the Rector presented awards to the Cisco Academy delegation.

Prof. Dr. Edrees Muhamad Tahir Harki, the Rector of the Erbil Polytechnic University, received a group of the volunteers of the Kurdistan Volunteer Organization (Volunteer.krd).

In the meeting, Mr. Sarmand Barzanji, the Administrative Director of our university was present the volunteers of the organization presented a brief on their work and activities to the Rector, while expressing their readiness to provide all their abilities for our university

The Rector of the Erbil Polytechnic University welcomed the delegation and wished them continuity and success.

Prof. Dr. Edrees Muhamad Tahir Harki said that it is important to have a spirit of volunteerism in everyone, especially after securing jobs whether in the public or private sector.

Collaboration and working together in the future were other topics of the meeting.

Meanwhile, the organization presented a bunch of flowers to the Rector in honor of the duty of our university teachers.

Within the framework of the work and activities of the organization, they are going to distribute special gifts to several teachers of our university in the coming days.

In the presence of Asst. Prof. Dr. Nageb Toma Bato, the Vice Rector for Scientific Affairs and Higher Education and Dr. Selar Othman Ali on online the meetings of the Camp plus Project were in Larissa city, Greece for 3 days from 3 to 5 October, 2023.

This project is carried out by the Erbil Polytechnic University in collaboration with some European institutions (IRSEI Italian, CMA French, iED Greek, VPL German, and CEIPES Dutch).

The aim of the project is to strengthen the skills of young refugees in Erbil and Larissa in Greece so that they can integrate into society or become owners of their own projects.
