Under the supervision and presence of Prof. Dr. Edrees Muamad Tahir Harki, the Rector of the Erbil Polytechnic University, on Tuesday, the 17th of October, 2023, completed a training course arranged to improve the capacities and skills of the college alumni.
In the ceremony, where the Dean of the Erbil Technical Health and Medicine College, his deputy, and several lecturers were available, the university Rector delivered a speech and congratulated the Erbil Technical Health and Medicine College for conducting such courses for graduates. He shed light on the influence of existing relationships between university graduates and their departments and the importance of opening such training courses to improve their level and ability that help them to easily find jobs in the labor market in the future.
The course lasted for 10 days in which the topics related to skills and the latest developments in all fields were explained to the university graduates and focused on the topics that make it easier to get job opportunities.
At the end of the ceremony, certificates were awarded to the participants.
On Tuesday, the 17th of October, 2023, in the conference hall of the Erbil Polytechnic University, in the presence of Prof. Dr. Edrees Muhamad Tahir Harki, the university Rector, Asst. Prof. Mr. Umed Arshad Hawezi, the Dean of the Erbil Medical Technical Institute, a large number of teachers and students a health workshop was held under the title of (World Vision Week and Day, the Vision Protection is the Human Health Protection).
At the beginning, Prof. Dr. Edrees Muhamad Tahir Harki the Rector of the University, welcomed the teachers and students and said: We are pleased that the Erbil Medical Technical Institute has brought us together again today on the occasion of Vision Week. I appreciate their great efforts because it is not the first time, they have gathered us in this hall for the days related to human health and life. Vision Week is within the effective days in the world.
Ladies and gentlemen, the department of eye examination has always continued to present seminars and workshops which is commendable. Other departments of the institute have done such works. In fact, the Medical Technical Institute should pay more attention to these issues not only for students, teachers and university staff, but also to enter the community and interact with the community. Society constantly needs the knowledge that university teachers have to listen to and use in life, especially in general health, whether it is vision or medicine and birth I think these activities should continue, especially workshops and seminars. For example, we should go to a neighborhood around Erbil and give seminars to the people there on any topic I am very pleased with the activities carried out in the institute. I hope to expand it. We would like to thank the department of eye examination and the deanship of the institute for conducting this workshop.
Then Prof. Murad Amir Ahmad presented a special seminar on World Sight Day, then Dr. Sami Jalal Abdulsamad, Dr. Diyar Abdulqadir Ibrahim and Dr. Beriwan Abdulqadir Ali presented their special health seminars, in which the topics of the workshop were explained in detail to the participants.
Afterwards, the door of questions and discussions was opened for the participants to answer questions about the topics and they were answered by expert doctors.
Before the end of the workshop, the workshop presenters were awarded certificates of appreciation by the Rector.
On Monday, the 16th of October, 2023, Prof. Dr. Edrees Muhamad Tahir Harki, the Rector of the Erbil Polytechnic University, received a delegation from Warith International Foundation for Technical Education in Karbala.
In a meeting where the Vice Rector for Scientific Affairs and Higher Education was present, the Rector welcomed the guest delegation and briefly talked about the university, colleges and institutes as well as the number of students and teachers and types of degrees and specialties.
In return, the guest delegation expressed their pleasure with their visit and building relationship between the two sides and requested for signing an agreement of understanding between our university and the foundation in the future in order to work together and cooperate with each other.
On Monday the 16th of October 2023, Prof. Dr. Edrees Muhamad Tahir Harki, the Rector of the Erbil Polytechnic University received the staff of Cisco Academy, which consisted of Mr. Soran Abdulrahman, Ms. Media Ali, and Ms. Diana Haider.
In the meeting both sides discussed the work and collaboration between them and the steps to build three advanced and modern scientific laboratories. The equipment and supplies will be prepared by the academy with the financial support of the US government.
This project includes the construction of three scientific laboratories in the field of communication for the Erbil Polytechnic University, and will be part of the higher education and scientific research process to award academic degrees in the field of cyber security and US technology in the Kurdistan Region.
Through these laboratories, both the public and private sectors will be able to prepare skilled workers in line with the needs of the labor market.
It is worth mentioning that the Cisco Academy was established in coordination with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the US Consulate General with IREX in Erbil. The academy will offer Cisco courses to students and trainees and award them Cisco international certificates
With the completion of the project, these laboratories will become one of the most advanced laboratories in the field of delivery in the region.
At the end of the meeting, the Rector presented awards to the Cisco Academy delegation.
