Today, Thursday, the 14^th of December, 2023, a workshop entitled Technical English was held for English teachers in all colleges and institutes of the Erbil Polytechnic University.

At the beginning, a welcome speech was delivered by Asst. Prof. Dr. Nageb Toma Bato, the Vice Rector for Scientific Affairs and Higher Education. Then, a seminar was delivered by Dr. Dashne Azad Siddiq entitled “Curriculum Development for English Language”.

Then, a panel on Technical English was presented by the authors of the book, how to teach and the obstacles facing the book, after receiving questions and suggestions were answered by the authors.

Finally, the Vice Rector for Scientific Affairs and Higher Education presented certificates of appreciation to the authors.

Dr. Shara Kamal, a lecturer at Erbil College of Technology of our university participated in the United Nations Climate Change Conference -2023 in Dubai, UAE.

Dr. Shara Kamal and the Kurdistan Regional Government delegation On the sidelines of the conference, he participated in a workshop on green energy investment in the Kurdistan Region in Dubai, UAE.

Members of the Kurdistan Regional Government delegation presented their reports and opinions on the issue.

On Wednesday, the 6^th of December, 2023, Asst. Prof. Nageb Toma Bato, the Vice Rector of the Erbil Polytechnic University for Scientific Affairs participated in the second meeting of the High Steering Committee of ESDEHARAK Project.

The meeting aimed to evaluate the work and activities of the project during the past six months and to plan activities for the next six months.

This project focuses on training and upgrading the skills of university staff for employment and agricultural development centers. It is implemented by Cowater in collaboration with the Ministries of Higher Education, Scientific Research, Education, Agriculture and Social Affairs of the Kurdistan Regional Government and the Federal Government.

Prof. Dr. Edrees Muhamad Tahir Harki, the Rector of the Erbil Polytechnic University, visited Loughborough University during an official visit to the UK with a high-level delegation of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

In a seminar, the Rector of Erbil Polytechnic University shed light on the history and the structure of the Erbil Polytechnic University, data and curricula of the university, as well as higher education programs and the number of higher education students in our university.

Then our university Rector, talked about the needs of the scientific departments that are new in our university and have been opened as the needs of the labor market and need more support.

Then the gift and logo of Loughborough University was presented to the Rector of the Erbil Polytechnic University and for his part, Prof. Idris Mohammed Tahir Harki presented the logo and gift of Erbil Polytechnic University to the Rector of Loughborough University.

Finally, the Rector of the Erbil Polytechnic University and the high-level delegation of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research visited the colleges, departments and laboratories of Loughborough University.
