On Tuesday, 25^th of May 2021, a delegation of the British Council consisted of the IELTS Project Manager Dara Rahman and the Exam and Service Project Officer Ahmed Hussein visited the Rector of the EPU, Asst. Prof. Dr. Kawa Abdulkareem Sherwani in his office at the EPU Presidency. In this meeting, several directors of the university were present.

During their visit, this delegation also visited The Language Center, the Scientific Research Center, and the Central Library of the EPU to see the condition of the exam halls of these places, as they tend to do their exams there. It is supposed that the Language Center lecturers supervise UKVI and School Professional Exam for whom that study in the university.

After participating in the “Nice Race (An Annual Race of Tishk International University that occur between the graduate research project of fourth-year students), the Erbil Technical Engineering College students could win by three groups who gained top one, two, and three.

On Tuesday 18^th of May, 2021, the Presidency of the Erbil Polytechnic University, in collaboration with the IT System staff of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, delivered a training course about the electronic system of Management (ERP) for the administrative staff of all colleges and institutes and Scientific Research Center at the conference Hall of the EPU.

In this course, the trainers explained to the participants how to treat certificates they receive and send electronically to inside or outside of their offices,  observe the formal letters and certificates, archiving them on the system. The trainers taught the users of this system to get authorized and controlled when they use this system.

This system includes managing six main fields, Human Resources Arrangement, Finance System Arrangement and management, Monitoring certificates and documents, Students’ Information System, Nominators Management System, and Certification’s Equivalent.

Then, the Rector of the EPU, Asst. Prof. Dr. Kawa Abdulkareem Sherwani presented a speech in which he expressed his appreciation and gratitude towards the Head Of Electronic System of the university Engineer Muhsin Ali, the Head of Electronic System in the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research Mr. Aso Khalil, and the Representative of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Mr. Dana.  His Excellency also congratulated the training course attendees and talked about the electronic system’s Importance and its implementation. He said that he will fully support promoting this process.

Today on Monday 17th of May, 2021, the Erbil Polytechnic Participates in the first annual international conference of ICET. The International Conference on education and teaching in K-12 Schools (ICET) is a joint educational event organized by Stirling Schools, Cambridge University Press, City & Guilds, and GEMS Education. This conference will start today at 12:00 PM in the VIP Reception Venue in the Rotana Hotel Erbil, which lasts for two days.
This international conference promotes education and contributes to developing the schools and teacher’s professional development in Iraq and KRG. ICET is being organized for the first time in 2021. It brings together teacher trainers, educational experts, and community leaders from the national and international communities.
It is worth mentioning that ICET invited the Erbil Polytechnic University to this conference to contribute to the events as a ‘supporting partner’ along with the University of London, British Consulate General-Erbil, and UK Teaching Academy.
