On Thursday, 7^th of October 2021, Erbil Polytechnic University and Barzani Charity Foundation completed three days of training courses for the Foundation staff about “Project Management.”  Barzani Charity Foundation opened this training course in collaboration with the Erbil Polytechnic University. In this event, Asst. Prof. Dr. Kawa Abdulkareem Sherwani and the Head of the Barzani Charity Foundation were present.

At the beginning of the celebration, the Chief Manager of the Barzani Charity Foundation, Mr. Mussa Ahmed, delivered a speech. He shed light on opening such training courses to strengthen the Barzani Charity Foundation staff capacity in the project management field. He said: “I warmly express my gratitude towards the EPU Rector Asst. Prof. Dr. Kawa Abdulkareem Sherwani and the lecturers who had a great role in arranging the training course”. He continued his speech and said,” These training courses have a considerable effect in performing the projects, administrative arrangements, and building contact with the organizations. We hope the training course attendees got benefit from the courses and continue in building their capacity.

Later, his Excellency Asst. Prof. Dr. Kawa Abdulkareem Sherwani presented his statement and said: “We feel proud of the Barzani Charity Foundation as they have served Iraq and the Kurdistan Region.

The EPU Rector also said, “We are always ready to serve Barzani Charity Foundation significantly in different fields. It is our first project with them, and we assure them that we will continue presenting training courses. Opening such courses affect substantially on the staff level to gain up-to-date knowledge and information in daily tasks.

The Rector Assistant for Scientific Affairs, the Erbil Technical Administration College Dean, the Career Center Department Director, the Curriculum Program Development, and the training course trainees and lecturers were present. Thirteen training course attendees received the certification of participation who theoretically and practically participated in the course.

It is worth mentioning; that this course is within the Memorandum of Understanding Agreement (MOU) between the Erbil Polytechnic University and Barzani Charity Foundation, which was signed previously between the parties. And it is decided that the EPU will deliver such courses in collaboration and cooperation with the Barzani Charity Foundation.

On Monday 4^th of October, the Kurdistan Region Government Spokesman, Dr. Jutiar Adel, delivered a seminar under the title “KRG Works and Activities” in the Cultural Center Hall of the Erbil Polytechnic University, which was arranged by the Erbil Polytechnic University. This event, the EPU Rector Asst. Prof. Dr. Kawa Abulkareem Sherwani, the Higher Education and Scientific Research Ministry Deputy Dr. Abdulfatah Abdulrazaq, and several ministry consultants and General Directors, the EPU Rector assistants, and the University Council Members.

In the beginning, his Excellency the EPU Rector presented a speech in which he welcomed the Higher Education and Scientific Research Ministry Deputy Dr. Abdulfatah Abdulrazaq, and a number of the ministry consultants and General Directors, and guests. He also expressed his warm gratitude and appreciation towards the KRG Spokesman Dr. Jutyar Adel for delivering this seminar to talk about the KRG ninth cabinet works and activities.

In this event which was supervised by the Rector Assistant for the Students Affairs Asst. Prof. Dr. Yousif Mustafa Rasul, Dr. jutyar Adel mentioned the past two years of KRG Affairs and work developments and the obstacles and difficulties KRG faced during their work process. In another part of his speech, he talked about the reformation process and its importance and results as he presented some examples upon which outcomes returned to the State Treasure.

The KRG Spokesman spoke about the issues between the Kurdistan region Government and Iraq and the factors and their consequences. Later he talked about the government’s future program that consists of several strategic projects one of them is creating a national bank which is in the process now.

In the end, an opportunity was made for the attendees to direct their comments and questions. One of the lecturers asked about employees’ grades rising, the KRG Spokesman said that in the KRG legal budget project of 2022 which is supposed to they work on it and start grade rising.

Finally, Dr. Jutyar Adel thanked the EPU Rector for giving him an opportunity to see the university lecturers inside the campus to talk about the government’s activities and issues.

In collaboration with the SPARK International Organization, Erbil Polytechnic University opened a training course for the EPU Alumni to gain job opportunities.

This course includes all specializations in which the attendees will do practical training in companies and institutions, and they will have a chance to get a job in the place they perform their training. For this reason, the college and institutes alumni should fill this form to gain participation right.

In this training course, only the EPU alumni have the right to attend.

On Thursday 30^th of September 2021, in the EPU presidency conference Room, honorary certifications were offered to the top lecturers of the One Quality Assurance Process for the academic year (2020-2021). In this ceremony, the Erbil Polytechnic University Rector Asst. Prof. Dr. Kawa Abdulkareem Sherwani, and the Higher Education, the Scientific Research Ministry Deputy, Dr. Abdulfatah Abdulrazaq, the IUC President Dr. Orhan Hikmet Aziz Oghlo, the EPU Assistants, the EPU Council Members, the EPU lecturers, and directors were present.

At the beginning of the celebration, the EPU Rector delivered a short statement. He shed light on the Quality Assurance Process and step by step of its development in our university and congratulated and expressed his appreciation towards the successful lecturers and wished them sustainable achievement. He assured his support.

Then, the Higher Education and Scientific Research Ministry Deputy, Dr. Abdulfatah Abdulrazaq, presented a speech. He talked about the importance of this process in all universities, and he said the ministry would constantly affirm using this process. In another part of his speech, he appreciated our university’s hard work in holding such events that encourage the instructors to raise their scientific level and develop education quality in the colleges and institutes. At the end of the ceremony, they offered the certifications.

It is worth mentioning, the Rector of the Erbil Polytechnic University, through the Quality Assurance Directorate, prepares such an event in which he rewards the top one lecturers with honorary certification depending on the quality assurance process measurement.
