On Tuesday 28th of September 2021, the Rector of the Erbil Polytechnic University Asst. Prof. Dr. Kawa Abdlukareem Sherwani received the International Universities Committee President (IUC), Dr. Orhan Hikmet Aziz Oghlu, and his delegation. The purpose behind their visit was to sign a memorandum of understanding (MOU) agreement between our university and the Cyprus Health and Social Sciences University (KSTU.
This MOU aims to develop academic and scientific relationships, student exchange, developing research and educational relationships, and conducting scientific conferences.
In this meeting, the EPU Rector Assistant for the Student Affairs Asst. Prof. Dr. Yousif Mustafa Rasul and University Council Secretary of the Cyprus Health and Social Sciences University signed a Memorandum of Understanding. This delegation, accompanied by the EPU Rector, visited the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research; Dr. Abdulfatah Abdulrazaq received them. In their meeting, they discussed some issues regarding university degree modification between the Kurdistan Region universities and the Cyprus universities to solve these issues.
On Monday 27th of September 2021, the Erbil Polytechnic University Rector, Asst. Prof. Dr. Kawa Abdulkareem Sherwani received an Italian delegation that consisted of the representative and the Head of the FOCSIV Italian. This organization is the federation of 86 Italian non-governmental organizations worldwide, collaborating with the SAPAN Organization (SOAE).
In this meeting, the Scientific Research Center Director and the EPU Curriculum Development Program Director were available. Both parties signed a memorandum of understanding agreement that included cooperating agriculture university staff and monetary funds to enhance the agriculture sector of the Kurdistan Region and Iraq.
The EPU Rector assured his support and cooperation to implement the agriculture sector project at our university funded by the mentioned organization. The delegation guest expressed their gratitude towards the collaboration and support they received from our university Rector in the marketing and developing the agriculture sector.
On Thursday 23th of September 2021, Erbil Polytechnic University and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Erbil opened another training course of labor for several EPU alumni, which will continue for two months. The main aim of this course is to encourage and support youth to get jobs and carry out their own business to rely on themselves. For this purpose, all the participants will practically work on a trade project as one team.
The Erbil Chamber of Commerce and Industry sponsored this training course in collaboration with the Erbil Technical Administration College, supervised by Mr. Zaniar Jabar, lecturer of this college.
In the past four years, such courses were sponsored by U.S General Consulate Erbil, IREX International Organization despite the Erbil Polytechnic University, Erbil Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Plan Organization, Rebaz Foundation, and Book Café.
Participation in this program is free of charge. Many of the past attendees of this program are now businessmen and could employ other people with them.
Several academic and business administrative staff of the Erbil Polytechnic University attended a training course organized by the EPU and the SPARK International organization and delivered by Prof. Dr. Hassan Youness, Communication Specialist and University Professor. It continued for about five days from 11 to the 15th of September, 2021, at the Erbil International Hotel.
Six Iraqi and the Kurdistan Region universities, which were: Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, Northern Technical University, University of Mosul, Ararat Institute, and Nobel Institute, participated in this training course under the title “Trends of Business: Market Mechanics and Future Careers.”
The training course aims to train the trainers (TOT), the Academic Staff to provide courses that serve in training the students, vulnerable from the host community, refugees, and internally displaced people (IDP) and Youths (hereafter, referred to the students’ beneficiaries).
It is worth mentioning that the Erbil Polytechnic University and SPARK International Organization had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to support refugee students by opening such training courses.
