On Thursday, the 6^th of June, 2024, Prof. Dr. Edrees Muhamad Tahir Harki, the Rector of the Erbil Polytechnic University, in the presence of Asst. Prof. Dr. Botan Majid Asnger, the Vice Rector for Scientific Affairs and Higher Education; Asst. Prof. Dr. Sarsam Khalil Omar, the Dean of the Erbil Technical Administrative Institute; Mr. Bahzad Hilmi Akrayi, the Director of the Rector’s Office, Dr. Bahjat Sabri Akrayi, the Head of the Department and the lecturers of the Department of Tourism Administration, received a number of students of the department and awarded them certificates of appreciation for their duties, efforts and activities during the 29th meeting of Arab universities.

The university Rector welcomed the audience and said: “I am pleased that you have done a very good job and showed a beautiful picture to the Arab delegations at the 29th meeting on exchange of training opportunities between member universities of the Arab Universities Union It was to be held inside the university so that the guests could know what our university is, what it can do and how much it can do. Because you are part of the institute and university and can show what you have learned What can be done? Today we wanted to see you up close and congratulate you.

Later, Asst. Prof. Dr. Sarsam, the Dean of Erbil Technical Administrative Institute thanked the Rector for his assistance and support to the students and the institute, and also wished continuity and more success for the students, and thanked the staff and teachers of the department for their hard work with the students.

Today, Wednesday, the 5^th of June, 2024, a delegation of the Erbil Polytechnic University led by Prof. Dr. Edrees Muhamad Tahir Harki, the Rector of the University, participated in the workshop (Standards of the Kurdistan Regional Accreditation Agency for Educational Institutions) organized by the Kurdistan Regional Accreditation Institution in collaboration with the Ministry of the Higher Education and Scientific Research.

In the workshop where Asst. Prof. Dr. Botan Majid Asnger, the Vice Rector for Scientific and Higher Education Affairs; Prof. Dr. Keyhan Zrar Ghafoor, the Dean of the Erbil Technology College, and Mr. Kamal Mohammed Abdullah, a lecturer at the Erbil Technical Administrative College were present Satisfactory discussions were held on the standards of quality and type of study to receive accreditation.

The workshop was arranged by the Kurdistan Regional Accreditation Institution for Education in collaboration with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research at the Kurdistan Regional Government level A step to internationalize the education process in Kurdistan. They decided to rearrange the whole standards then to be implemented. Accordingly with this step the education process in Kurdistan will reach an advanced stage that can become a step to internationalize the education process in Kurdistan.

On Monday, the 3^rd of June, 2024, Prof. Dr. Edrees Muhamad Tahir Harki, the Rector of the Erbil Polytechnic University, accompanied by the General Director of the Scientific Research and Development Center of our university participated in the celebration of the National Day of the Italian country.

The delegation of our university, which was present at the official invitation of the Italian Consulate in the Kurdistan Region, while congratulating the Italian Consul General, held discussions and meetings with several academic, cultural and political personalities.

It is worth mentioning Representatives of the governments, political parties and diplomatic missions were present at the ceremony.

The student’s team of the Erbil Polytechnic University represented Iraq in the Huawei World Competition in China and won the second place in the world in the field of networking.

On the 22^nd of May, 2024, a team of students of the Erbil Polytechnic University consisting of Bayar Qahar, fourth year student of ICTE Department of the Erbil Technology College and Bashar Qahar, the second year student of ISE Department of the Erbil Technical College of Engineering who were supervised by Ms. Shirin Abdulla Anwar participated in the Huawei World Competition and could win the second place in the world.

Our university team represented all Iraqi universities in the final round of the Huawei Global Competition (ICT Networking) in which 476 competitors from 161 teams from 49 countries and regions participated worldwide.

It is worth mentioning that our university team in the first round at the level of Iraq advanced to the second place which was held in Bahrain where they won the second place and reached the final round held in China on the 22^nd of May, 2024.

The competition began with a total of more than 170,000 students from more than 80 countries and regions struggling for a chance to compete in the final stages.
