On Monday, the July 15, 2024, in the presence of Prof. Dr. Edrees Muhamad Tahir Harki, the Rector of the Erbil Polytechnic University and Dr. Zhala Saeed Khatat, the General Director of the Research and Development Office of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, held the opening ceremony of the second international scientific conference entitled (Sustainable System Development). It will be held at the Bristoria Hotel in Erbil.

In the ceremony, the Vice Rectors for the Administrative and Financial Affairs, the Scientific and Higher Education Affairs, the Students Affairs and the Internal Departments, the General Director of the Scientific Research Center and several deans of technical colleges and institutes of the Erbil Polytechnic University.

At the beginning of the ceremony, the Rector delivered a speech in which he welcomed the guests and spoke about the importance of holding such conferences to improve the scientific level of researchers, teachers, and academic institutions such as universities. He wished success to researchers and participants.

The conference is a part of the plan of the Erbil Polytechnic University and Scientific Research Center to encourage teachers to conduct high-level scientific research that will be published in high-level international journals.

It is worth mentioning that more than 80 researchers from around the world, Iraq, and Kurdistan are participating in the conference, which will last for two days.

Today, Sunday, the 14^th of July, 2024, in the conference hall of the Presidency, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Edrees Muhamad Tahir Harki, the Rector of the Erbil Polytechnic University and in the presence of the Vice Rectors, the General Director of the Scientific Research Center, and several other directors a group of students of  the Sultanate of Oman and Palestine were received and, who are guests of the Erbil Polytechnic University for summer training.

At the beginning, Asst. Prof. Dr. Botan Majid Asngar the Vice Rector for Scientific and Higher Education Affairs welcomed the students on behalf of the Rector of the University, and wished them a scientific and fruitful journey. Later, Asst. Prof. Dr. Ranj Sirwan Abdullah welcomed the students and gave a presentation on introducing the university and gave necessary instructions to the guest students about their training program and wished them good work, scientific benefits, and a productive journey.

Finally, the students of the Sultanate of Oman and Palestine expressed their pleasure to try a new experience in Kurdistan and the Erbil Polytechnic University.

The Council of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has approved the opening of the Erbil Technical Computer Engineering College at the Erbil Polytechnic University.

Tuesday, the 9^th of July, 2024, under the supervision of Dr. Aram Mohammed Qadir, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, held a regular meeting of the Council of the Ministry of the Higher Education and Scientific Research in Soran University.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research congratulated all Kurdistan universities on the occasion of the end of the academic year (2023-2024) and pointed to the preparations for the new academic year (2024-2025). Provide equal and fair public education opportunities for all.

They also discussed the higher education plan and preparations for admission of students who graduated from grade 12 high school in universities and colleges.

During the meeting, the Council of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research approved the opening of the Technical College of Computer Engineering at Erbil Polytechnic University.

It is worth mentioning that the Erbil Technical Computer Engineering College includes several scientific departments and will receive students for the academic year 2024-2025. For this purpose, the Erbil Polytechnic University has made full preparations in terms of infrastructure, construction of laboratories, provision of modern computers and other requirements of this college.

Today’s afternoon, Monday, the 8^th July, 2024, a delegation of the Erbil Polytechnic University led by Prof. Dr. Edrees Muhamad Tahir Harki, the Rector of the Erbil Polytechnic University and other members’ attendance consisted of: Asst. Prof. Dr. Botan Majid Asngar, the Vice Rector of the Erbil Polytechnic University for Scientific and Higher Education Affairs; Prof. Dr. Keyhan Zrar the Dean of the Erbil Technology College, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Ranj Sirwan Abdullah, the General Director of the Scientific Research Center of the Erbil Polytechnic University, participated in the event of the South Korean Consulate in the Rotana Hotel in Erbil.

In the event where Mr. Sinjul Lim, the General Consul of Korea in Erbil was present, several South Korean universities presented presentations on their universities in terms of history, expertise and number of academic staff, and students.

In addition to Erbil Polytechnic University, Salahaddin University, Soran University, Koya University, American University in Duhok, Kurdistan Board, Kurdistan University in Erbil in Kurdistan and in Korea, Seoul Women’s University, Hanyang University, and KDI School of Public Policy and Management) were involved.

During the event, they discussed the joint work between Kurdistan universities and South Korean universities in terms of exchange of academic staff and students and conducting joint scientific research between researchers of both sides.
