Dean of Mergasor Technical Institute Welcomes Beekeeping Experts and Academics
Today 9Sep2024, in a collaborative step towards enhancing the academic and practical resources of the institution’s Beekeeping Department, Dr Talib Omer, the Dean of Mergasor Technical Institute
welcomed a team of beekeeping experts, academics, and the Head of Beekeepers of the Kurdistan Region.
The visit, held at the institution’s campus, focused on addressing the needs and challenges face by the Beekeeping Department in Mergasor.
The experts and academics shared their insights on current industry trends, research opportunities, and practical applications essential for the department’s development.
The discussions aimed to provide students with a better understanding of the scientific and business aspects of beekeeping, ensuring they are well-prepared for future careers in the field.
Key topics of the meeting included improving student access to fieldwork opportunities, enhancing laboratory facilities for research, and fostering partnerships with local beekeepers.
The Head of Beekeepers of the Kurdistan Region emphasized the importance of practical experience and offered recommendations on how the department can further support student engagement with the local beekeeping community.

Under the supervision of Assist. Prof. Dr. Tiran Jamil Piro, Dean of the Erbil Medical Technical Institute, a ceremony was held to mark the change in the position of Assistant Dean and the appointment of two new department heads.
In attendance were the Head of the Erbil Polytechnic University Teachers Organization from KDP, the Executive Board of the Organization, along with all department heads and teachers. During the ceremony, Dr. Tariq Waece Sadeq replaced Lec. Muharram Yasin Mohammed as Assistant Dean. Additionally, Dr. Birwan Abdulqadir Ali succeeded Dr. Murad Amir Ahmed as Head of the Eye Examination Department, while Assistant Lec. Zana Abdulrahman Hamad Amin replaced Lec. Diyar Bakr Saber as Head of the Assistant Dentistry Department.
Assist. Prof. Dr. Tiran Jamil Piro presented awards to Dr. Murad Amir Ahmed, Lec. Muharram Yasin, and Lec. Diyar Bakr Saber in recognition of their dedicated service to the institute.
