Today, Thursday, the 26^th of October, 2023, under the supervision of the Prime Minister Mr. Masrour Barzani the first job fair for graduates of Erbil Polytechnic University today was opened. This is the first time such an exhibition has been opened in public universities in the Kurdistan Region.

In the opening ceremony Prof. Dr. Edrees Muhamad Tahir Harki, the Rector of the Erbil Polytechnic University, Prof. Dr. Abdulfattah Abdulrazzaq, the Deputy Minister of the Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Amir Chali, the Advisor to the Minister of Higher Education, members of the University Council, Mr. Hazhar Othman, The Head of the Aso District, Ms. Shirin Khalid, the Head of the Ainda District, Mr. Nechirvan Kalari, the Secretary of the Kurdistan Students Union and a large number of teachers and students were present.

At the beginning, the Chairman of the Preparatory Committee of the Job Fair, Asst. Prof. Dr. Nageb Toma Bato, the Vice Rector for the Scientific Affairs and Higher Education, delivered a speech and said: We are very pleased to attend the opening ceremony of the first job fair specialized for our university graduates. With the participation of 40 private sector companies, we would like to thank each of the companies that showed their willingness to participate in the exhibition, especially those companies that participated as sponsors.

We would like to thank the Couter Company for helping us to train an academic staff on the mechanisms and methods of preparing for our exhibition, as well as preparing a booklet in three languages: Kurdish, English, and Arabic. We express my warm gratitude towards CCC for cleaning and logistics in preparation for the exhibition.

We want to tell the graduates that we want to continue your relationship with the university. We are with you through the Career Development Center to facilitate your work and prepare you for the labor market.

I would like to thank all the teachers and colleagues who worked with us as volunteers and patients, such as graduates, companies and cadres of the Kurdistan Students Union.

Then, the President of Erbil Polytechnic University, Prof. Idris Mohammed Tahir Harki, welcomed the guests and said: “I warmly congratulate the graduates that today they can each according to their expertise can get job opportunities in this exhibition and paint their future It is our first action step. After taking office, we promised to do our best to find job opportunities for our graduates.

If we want to keep pace with the world, we must take our steps very carefully and be aware of the rapid changes In the meantime, universities have a major role in this field, which requires us to take very careful and bold steps in order to lead the younger generation and society towards a successful direction and participate in building a modern and integral society in the new world.

Dear audience, In recent years, a large number of new institutes, colleges and universities have been opened in the Kurdistan Region, a large number of students graduate from different scientific departments and obtain degrees, but providing job opportunities for all these graduates is difficult There is a large number of programs and jobs, but employment and job opportunities are linked to the labor market.

The university should play a role in developing the skills of its graduates and should be in constant contact with them to conduct training and provide them with job opportunities

Fortunately, the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in the ninth cabinet of the Kurdistan Government has paid special attention to this issue and now at the request of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Career Development Directorate (CDC) is activated The task of this department will be to have continuous contact with the graduates, as well as provide them with vocational training opportunities and job fairs.

Job fairs should be provided annually for graduates and companies and institutions should be invited to build bridges of communication with graduates regarding job vacancies work on it The university should continue to work with companies and institutions on the clinic.

On Wednesday, the 26^th of October, 2023, in the presence of Prof. Dr. Edrees Muhamad Tahir Harki, the Rector of the Erbil Polytechnic University, a workshop on the Bologna Process for the heads of scientific departments of colleges and institutes of our university was held.

In the workshop, the Vice Rector for Scientific Affairs, the Dean of the Erbil Technology College, and a number of members of the university council were present. The rector welcomed the audience and spoke about the importance of the Bologna process for the university, teachers and students. He said: “In my opinion, the head of the scientific department is really the dynamo of the university. All the work related to teachers and students, who are both the main components of the university. Therefore, we have focused on this point and paid great attention to the head of department, because it is very important and necessary for the head of department to participate in such courses and workshops”.

Ladies and Gentlemen, the importance of the Erbil Polytechnic University for the academic year 2022-2023 is that the number of graduates is higher than all universities in the Kurdistan Region, which makes us serious about the Bologna process. It is the only university in Iraq that has started this subject in a very orderly manner and continues to cut more levels.  Currently, Iraqi universities are planning to come to the Erbil Polytechnic University to see what we have done and they can benefit from our experience in this regard. Therefore, we consider such courses important so that we can move forward and become a university. I can guarantee you that the future of our university is for the Erbil Polytechnic University, because Erbil Polytechnic University has started both the Bologna project and the name of the polytechnic can adapt to the labor market much easier. Our people are now aware and know what to study and go to study in what department, because they understood that studying is not only for a degree but also for you to work, we must try, as today We are tiring you but I am sure a good future awaits both you and your university. Then the workshop program began in which the Bologna Process Committee led by Dr. Botan Majid Asngar and expert teachers in the field were explained the latest developments in the process.
