Today, Tuesday, the 12th of September, 2023, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Edrees Muhamad Tahir Harki, the Rector of Erbil Polytechnic University, the Dastpek training course started, which is an important project and has many benefits for students and graduates of the Erbil Polytechnic University to find job opportunities and become self-employed through innovation projects and competition.
The Dastpek Project is a special competition for entrepreneurship in which the Erbil Polytechnic University participates alongside six other universities in the Kurdistan Region. The course is organized by the German Foundation (GIZ) with the assistance of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The participants will be trained by trainers Kovan Omar and Zanyar Jabar. This project is funded by the European Union which encourages university graduates and students to develop their own business ideas and work to establish their own jobs. In the first phase, 60 graduates and students will benefit.
Through this project, students and graduates of the Erbil Polytechnic University can participate in a two-day training course in which they will work on building a work project as a team and then two teams will be selected for the next stage of the competition alongside the team other universities participating in this program will then receive intensive training In the final stage, the winning teams will present their projects in a special ceremony.
The objectives of the project are to change the attitudes of students and graduates about their future work, get familiar with entrepreneurship, and business leadership, practical steps to build businesses, promote and enhance the ability to work in teams practically.
