On Monday, the 6th of March 2023, a delegation of the Erbil Polytechnic University lead by Prof. Dr. Edrees Muhamad Tahir Harki attended a symposium organized by the Ministry of the Higher Education and Scientific Research, the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs in collaboration with the International Labor Organization at the Ramada Hotel in Erbil.
In this event where the Vice Rector for Scientific Affairs and Higher Education and the Director of the Career Development Center of our university were present, many topics were shed light on such as: Labor Rights, Introduction of law and Social Security.
During the symposium program, the Labor Law Project and the Social Security Bill were clarified for the audience, which was recently approved by the Kurdistan Regional Government and Parliament, It was also proposed to open places for these subjects in educational institutions and universities where graduates can get familiar with their rights and duties while working.
Later, in the panels the participants discussed the higher education sector and changing the curricula in universities to meet the demands of the labor market in the Kurdistan Region and meet the needs of private sector companies in terms of human resources, which will be a good opportunity for alumni to find jobs.
