On Thursday, November 10, 2022, the president of Erbil Polytechnic University, Dr. Idris Mohammed Tahir Harki, and Dr. Rafid Al-Khafaji Deputy Director of Huawei in Iraq signed a contract for the establishment of Huawei Academy-ICT Center at Erbil Polytechnic University.
The signing ceremony was attended by Dr. Najib Toma Bto, Assist. Prof. Dr. Botan Majid Asngar Dean of Erbil Technology College, Dr. Ayad Zaki Dean of Technical College of Engineering, Dr. Jamal Nuri, Head of Huawei Communications in Iraq, and Ms. Shereen Abdullah Anwar Head of Huawei ICT Academy Center at Erbil Polytechnic University were present.
The academy will be based in Erbil Technology College and will be directly supervised by the Department of Information and Communication Technology Engineering In coordination with Huawei, the academy aims to provide the latest information to students, teachers, and applicants in the field of ICT.
The aim of the academy is to provide information and job opportunities for participants in continuous courses offered free of charge to applicants. This center will be the fourth academic center of the company in Kurdistan. It is worth mentioning that the signing of this contract will lead to more coordination and close cooperation between our university and Huawei in the future.
