On Tuesday March 23 2019,  Erbil polytechnic university held a workshop entitled ” The effects of Pesticides and Chemical Fertilizers on environment” .

The workshop was organised by Khabat technical institute and EPU research center in collaboration with Erbil Chamber of commerce and industry.

The workshop dealt with different topics starting with a seminar about Health risk assessment of heavy metals in plant by Prof Dr. Dlshad Aziz from Sallahaddind university’s college of science.

Then a panel on the environment pollution in the scientific perspective and its results. Followed by a seminar on Detrimental effects of chemical pesticides on environment.

On Tuesday March 23 2019, a delegation from US consulate General in Erbil headed by the consul Mr. Steve Fagin visited Erbil Polytechnic University.

The aim of the visit was to explore more about the University.
The delegation was received by the president of the University Asst. prof. Dr Kawa Sherwani who explained the vision of the university and the programs that are offered by the university. As well as, explained the challenges that faced the university during the previous period. The both sides then discussed the opportunities for the future.

Finally, the US consul, met a group of students from different disciplinary and discussed different topics related to their future careers after graduation.

The language center of Erbil polytechnic university announces conducting an IELTS training course for Master and PhD candidates, on April 21st 2019.

The training course lasts One month, 3 days a week and 40 studying hours.

On Monday March 18th 2019, EPU conducted an event, honoring famous figures of Erbil.

The activity, aimed to reward different people (dead ones or still alive) for their outstanding performance in 8 different fields for many years in Erbil city.

It was participated by, a number of government officials, academics, political officials and the awarded people’s relatives and friends.

The event showed emotional moments after presenting short documentary films about the famous figures and listing to traditional music of Erbil.

Such an activity, is being held for the first time in the region. EPU aims to make it an annual event and honor a group of them each year.
