Erbil Polytechnic University Announces A Training Course For Its Alumni

After gaining financial funds from the European Union, our university is glad to announce a training course for its graduates. The training course subject is project development to provide job opportunity and suitable work ground for our youth.

The training course is within the joint works and activities between the International Relations Office of the EPU and the Camp+ Project that will continue for one week based on a modern program. This programme is built by some European partners for 150 different categories that include Erbil city and its surrounding campus refugees and our university graduates.

Any graduate tends to participate in the training course can apply according to the following points and fill out the application form.

Note:

  • Only twenty-five university alumni can attend the course.
  • The participant’s age should be 20-35 years old.
  • They must be Erbil Polytechnic University graduates.
  • The applicant is preferred to have a thoughtful mind for projects.
  • The deadline for the application is on the 18th of November 2022.
  • The interview for choosing the students will be on the 23rd of November 2022 at 9:00 AM at the International Relations Office of the University Presidency.

The first special meeting was held to formulate the strategy for technical education of Polytechnic Universities in Kurdistan

On Sunday, the 6th of November 2022, the three Polytechnic Universities of Erbil, Duhok, and Sulaimaniyah conducted the first meeting at the university presidency. In the meeting where the Rector Assistant for Scientific Affairs, Assist Prof. Dr. Nageb Toma Bato, was present, the universities formulated effective educational strategies at the Polytechnic Universities in Kurdistan.

Representatives of the three Polytechnic Universities of Erbil, Sulaimaniyah, and Duhok participated in the meeting to discuss the draft strategy at the Polytechnic Universities in Kurdistan and organize the administrative and technical affairs of the three universities due to the characteristics of technical education.  

In the session, the participants talked about the issue of research and higher education, which should be organized practically and technically to ensure solving the internal problems of Kurdistan.

Another issue of the meeting was about the education system of the Polytechnic Universities in Kurdistan, which is organized in several dimensions to adapt to the progress and changes in the educational process and the needs of the labour market by using students’ abilities in technical studies.   

It is worth mentioning that the meetings will continue until a national guideline for technical studies is organized at the Kurdistan level.

The Rectors Of Technical Universities In Iraq Visit Erbil Polytechnic University Rector

Today, the 25th of October 2022, the presidents of four universities of Iraq, Northern Technical, Middle Technical, Southern Technical, and Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical, visited the Erbil Polytechnic University Presidency that was received by the University Rector Prof. Dr. Edrees Muhamad Tahir Harki.

In a session where the University Rector Assistant for Scientific Affairs, the University Rector Assistant for Students Affairs, the International Relations Office Director of EPU, the UNESCO Project Manager, and the TVET Phase 2 Project Manager in Iraq were present, they talked about their partnership and collaboration in academic and scientific relationships. All universities assured their support to provide cooperation and collaboration.

Later in this session, the University Rectors exchanged gifts and logos.  

A Delegation Of Erbil Polytechnic University Participates In A Workshop About Strengthening TVET-Construction Programmes In Higher Education Technical Institutions In Iraq

On Sunday, the 23rd of October 2022, a delegation of the Erbil Polytechnic University headed by the University Rector Prof. Dr. Edrees Muhamad Tahir Harki attended a workshop about Strengthening TVET-Construction Programmes in Higher Education Technical Institutions in Iraq that will continue for two days in the Best Inn Erbil Hotel.

Within the activities of the TVET-2 Project that was funded by the European Union and implemented by UNESCO, in collaboration with the Government of Iraq, the UNESCO Office in Iraq, UNHABITAT, and ILO are implementing the European Union-funded projects; “Jobs Creation through Technical and Vocational Education System Strengthening and Labour Market Linkages – TVET phase II”, Reviving Mosul and Basra Old Cities project, and Support to Livelihoods through Cultural Heritage Development project.

The workshop aimed to provide a platform to share what has been accomplished within TVET Reform Project Phase I through themes covered by those projects, increase the capacity of and capabilities of individuals and institutions to develop and deliver high-quality inspiring TVET programmes in the construction sector and strengthen knowledge and improve our understanding of the projects outcomes and remaining gaps in the construction sector for TVET professionals and Technical Universities, and some further subjects that will be covered within the two days of the workshop.
