Erbil Polytechnic University Rector, Prof. Dr. Idris Muhammad Tahir Harki, welcomed the University Of THM for Applied Science delegation consisting of Prof. Dr. Klaus Bayler and Prof. Dr. Bakr French.
The University International Relations Office Director and General Director of the Scientific Research Center at Erbil Polytechnic University were present at the meeting. They talked about a project entitled “Academic Education in the Field of Renewable Energy,” funded by the German DAAD organization.
In another part of their dialogue, the meeting attendees discussed strengthening the relationship between our university and German THM University and emphasized increasing academic and scientific exchange.
The delegation of THM University showed assured to collaborate and cooperate in opening new scientific departments at the colleges and institutes of our university.
It is worth mentioning that the Directorate of International Relations Office will implement the project in three stages within two years in collaboration with the DAAD Organization.
On Wednesday, November 16, 2022, the third international conference on social change and regional development 2022, under the title “Towards Practical Social Sciences, “was held by the Erbil Polytechnic University jointly with the Duhok Polytechnic University and U.T.H.M. University of Malaysia in Duhok city that lasted for two days.
The third international conference on social change and regional development 2022, under the title “Toward Practical Social Sciences, “has started under the supervision of Dr. Aram Mohammed Qadir, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and the presence of Erbil Polytechnic University Rector, Prof. Dr. Idris Muhammad Tahir Herki, Duhok Polytechnic University Rector, Prof. Dr. Ari Adil, academic staff, U.T.H.M. University of Malaysia, several assistants of many universities, academic staff, local and international scientific and social researchers.
First of all, Duhok Polytechnic University Rector, Prof. Dr. Ari Adil, gave a speech on the name of the three universities in which he mentioned the number and content of the research, which consists of 126 local and international research in the fields of statistics, economics, administration, finance and banks, accounting, media and language presented in the conference.
Prof. Dr. Ari Adil revealed that, overall, 114 research had been accepted after evaluation by the special committee, and they will be discussed within two days of the conference.
Later on, in the conference’s head panel, the direction of the relations between Erbil and Baghdad on economic, social, and even scientific issues was discussed briefly.
On the second day of the conference, the sessions continued in which the researchers presented their research, and the audience’s comments were considered.
Before the end of the conference, of Erbil Polytechnic University Rector, Prof. Dr. Idris Muhammad Tahir Herki delivered a speech about the importance of preparing such a conference.
Initially, he congratulated the researchers whose papers were approved and completed the two days of the conference.
He also thanked the High Committee for Evaluation of Researches.
“Despite the main objectives, this conference has brought many researchers together with the same discipline to exchange different notions on their works, “said the Rector of E.P.U.
The Rector of EPU also stated that “the main objective of this conference is to bring together researchers from Kurdistan universities in the field of social sciences and to provide opportunities for masters and doctoral students to present their research at this conference. As well as encourage cooperation between universities in terms of publishing research in local and international scientific journals”.
On Tuesday, the 15th of November 2022, the Erbil Polytechnic University Rector, Prof. Dr. Edrees Muhamad Tahir Harki, in his office received Prof. Dr. Hendrow from the Business and Economy College of the Pakwan University of Indonesia country.
In a meeting where the University Rector Assistant for Scientific Affairs, the guest delegation expressed their admiration of the Kurdistan Region and the Erbil Polytechnic University, and they asked the University Rector to work on building a relationship between both universities through signing a memorandum of understanding aiming to collaborate and cooperate in the future to hold joint activities.
On Thursday, the 10th of November 2022, the Erbil Polytechnic University Rector, Prof. Dr. Edrees Muhamad Tahir Harki, and Huawei Company General Director Deputy in Iraq, Dr. Rafid Al-Khafaji signed a contract at the Erbil Technology College. The contract’s purpose is to import equipment for establishing the Huawei ICT Academy at the Erbil Polytechnic University.
In the contract signing process, the EPU Rector Assistant, Dr. Nageb Toma Bato, the Erbil Technology College Asst. Prof. Dr. Botan Majid Assengar, the Erbil Technical Engineering College Dr. Ayad Zaki, and the Head of Huawei Company Relations, Dr. Jamal Nuri, were present.
The Huawei ICT Academy’s Headquarters will be inside the Erbil Technology College, which will be managed by the Technology and Communication Information Technical Engineering Department in collaboration and support of the Huawei company. The academy aims to provide knowledge and job opportunities for the constant training course participants that are delivered freely. It is worth mentioning that this center will be the fourth academic center of this company in the Kurdistan Region. The purpose of signing this contract is to strengthen relationships and work with the company in the future.
