Two students of the Erbil Polytechnic University have won the second place in a competition in China

The student’s team of the Erbil Polytechnic University represented Iraq in the Huawei World Competition in China and won the second place in the world in the field of networking.

On the 22nd of May, 2024, a team of students of the Erbil Polytechnic University consisting of Bayar Qahar, fourth year student of ICTE Department of the Erbil Technology College and Bashar Qahar, the second year student of ISE Department of the Erbil Technical College of Engineering who were supervised by Ms. Shirin Abdulla Anwar participated in the Huawei World Competition and could win the second place in the world.

Our university team represented all Iraqi universities in the final round of the Huawei Global Competition (ICT Networking) in which 476 competitors from 161 teams from 49 countries and regions participated worldwide.

It is worth mentioning that our university team in the first round at the level of Iraq advanced to the second place which was held in Bahrain where they won the second place and reached the final round held in China on the 22nd of May, 2024.

The competition began with a total of more than 170,000 students from more than 80 countries and regions struggling for a chance to compete in the final stages.

A delegation from Erbil Polytechnic University participates in the Spring Festival of Erbil University of Medicine

On Sunday, the 2nd of June, 2024, on behalf of Prof. Dr. Edrees Muhamad Tahir Harki, the Rector of the Erbil Polytechnic University; Asst. Prof. Dr. Murad Amir Ahmad, the Dean of Erbil Technical College of Health and Medicine; Asst. Prof. Dr. Tiran Jamil Piro, the Dean of the Erbil Medical Technical Institute visited Erbil University of Medicine – College of Health Sciences.

During this visit, the delegation participated in the fourth spring festival of the College of Health Sciences of Erbil University of Medicine, which included several health, folklore, and artistic activities and supporting (50) local projects.

The University Rector receives the General Consul of South Korea

On Sunday, the 2nd of June, 2024, Prof. Dr. Edrees Muhamad Tahir Harki, the Rector of the Erbil Polytechnic University, received Mr. Senchol Lim, the General Consul of South Korea in the Kurdistan Region and his accompanying delegation.

In the meeting where the Vice Rectors for Administrative and Financial Affairs, Scientific and Higher Education affairs, the Genreal Director of the Scientific Research Center, and the Director of the Rector’s Office were present, discussions were held on strengthening relations with Korean universities through the consulate.

In the meeting, the Rector of the University talked about the history of the establishment of universities, colleges and institutes affiliated to our university and presented the plans and strategies of our university for the future to the guest delegation.

 In another part of the meeting, it was proposed that the Korean Consul in the Kurdistan Region will soon hold a workshop for the staff of our university and present the experience and how the development and progress of his country.

The Rector of the Erbil Polytechnic University attends a meeting of the Erbil Chamber of Commerce and Industry

Today, Monday, the 27th of May, 2024, a delegation of the Erbil Polytechnic University led by Prof. Dr. Edrees Muhamad Tahir Harki, the Rector of the Erbil Polytechnic University, participated in a meeting organized by the Erbil Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The university delegation consisted of Asst. Prof. Dr. Mohsin Sharif, thw Dean of the Erbil Administrative Technical College; Asst. Prof. Dr. Ranj Sirwan Abdullah, the General Director of the Scientific Research Center; Asst. Prof. Dr. Afan Osman Hussein, the inSecretary of the University Council, Asst. Prof. Dr. Hemn Kakakhan Awlla Lecturer at Erbil Polytechnic University.

In the meeting, a seminar was presented by Dr. Imad Balak about the first electric vehicle assembly factory in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region.

During a participation, the President of Erbil Polytechnic University, suggested that the supervisors of the project rely on universities, especially Erbil Polytechnic University, which is the only university in the Kurdistan Region has an automotive technical department and graduates.

In answering a cooment directed by University Rector Dr. Emad Balak said: Dear Prof. Dr. Edrees, I am very pleased for your useful comment. We as a factory and company aim to take advantage of the ability of Kurdish youth and expert students and take advantage of their capabilities when establishing our factory.

It is worth mentioning that the Kurdistan Innovation and Innovation Institute in collaboration with the Erbil Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Erbil businessmen to cooperate together to strengthen the economic infrastructure of the Kurdistan Region, to benefit businessmen Promoting technology and innovators in the Kurdistan Region.
