Erbil Polytechnic University Jointly With Salahaddin University-Erbil Organized A Conference On Diagnostic Quality And Trust

On Thursday, the 23rd of February, 2023 at the Erbil International Hotel, Erbil Polytechnic University jointly with the Salahaddin- Erbil University, and members of parliament held a conference on “Diagnostic Quality and Trust (DIQAT)”. In this event, the Rector of the University, Prof. Dr, Edrees Muhamad Tahir Harki, the Erbil Governor Umed Khoshnaw, The Prime Minister Consultant Dr. Karzan Karim, the Consultant of the Ministry of Higher Education Dr. Amir Chali, the Erbil Medical University Rector Prof. Dr. Nuradin Werdi and the Vice Rectors of the Erbil Polytechnic University and the Salahuddin-Erbil University, and parliament members were present.

The conference was organized by Erbil Polytechnic University and Salahaddin University–Erbil in collaboration with the Ministry of Health of the Kurdistan Regional Government and ECO Organization for Education and Community Health.

The conference began with a moment of standing and listening to the national anthem. Then, the President of Erbil Polytechnic University delivered a speech in which he welcomed the guests, party and government officials. His Excellency said: “We are pleased to meet today with Salahaddin University and the Ministry of Health in another community service program at this conference.

Ladies and Gentlemen, as we all know, besides providing knowledge and scientific research, the university also provides services to the society, whether through the private or public sectors, whether in partnership with organizations and universities We have conducted many similar programs to serve the community both in partnership with organizations and universities

Our honorable guests, Erbil Polytechnic University consists of six colleges and six institutes which offer more than 42 programs in 132 scientific departments, about 41 of which are dedicated to health and medicine, and 11 departments are dedicated to disease analysis in the evening and morning.

Ladies and gentlemen, this is an important issue for every individual in society, because every individual needs medical examination. We believe that there are three important points related to this issue: how to train laboratory staff, the equipment quality imported from abroad They are used in analyses, so this forum should focus on these points.

What is related to the universities, colleges and institutes is how to train these cadre. We must be serious about how to train these cadres, and how to train these students together with the Ministry of Health. We as a university have paid special attention to it and have set up special programs for it.

Finally, I would like to thank the sponsors and members of the supervisory committee of this conference. We hope that the results of the conference reflect positively on the improvement of the quality of graduates and tests delivered in laboratories to benefit all and we all live healthy. Erbil Polytechnic University In Collaboration with the International Labor Organization (ILO) Organized A Workshop On Vocational Guidance For Job Seekers

On Wednesday, the 22nd of February, 2023, in the presence of the Rector of the University, Prof. Dr. Edrees Muhamad Tahir Harki, the Head of Safin Branch 24, Vice Rectors, a number of members of the University Council and Directors of the University Presidency, held a workshop for job seekers.

This workshop is supervised by ILO and delivered by experts in the field that aims to explain how to apply for job opportunities on the vocational guidelines of the Employment Organization for Employers, as well as benefit students to improve the quality and availability of employment services.

The workshop will help students understand the job market, define their goals, build their communication tools and media, use the internet and finally, successfully integrate into the new company.

It is worth mentioning that this workshop is organized by the International Labor Organization (ILO) for students of Iraqi and Kurdistan universities in Erbil Polytechnic University for two days. More than 600 students in grades two and four participated in the event.

The University Rector Receives A Representative From The University Of Texas At Arlington

On Thursday, the 16th February, 2023, the Rector of the University, Prof. Dr. Edrees Muhamad Tahir Harki received Asst. Prof. Dr. Raad Azam, a lecturer at the University of Texas at Arlington (Civil Engineering–Construction Specialist).

His visit aim to the Kurdistan Region and Erbil was to participate as the first speaker in the joint conference between the Erbil Polytechnic University and the TISHK International University (9th Engineering Scientific Conference in the fields of Civil Engineering and Computer Engineering).

In a meeting where the Vice Rector for Scientific Affairs and Higher Education was present, they discussed the establishment of a channel between the Erbil Polytechnic University and the University of Texas at Arlington for scientific and cultural cooperation and collaboration.

In the meeting they also decided to prepare for the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the two universities for cooperation and collaboration in the field of higher education, scientific research and scientific development, especially in the nursing and business administration fields, as well as academic and cultural exchange.

The University Rector Visits Turkish Consulate General In Erbil

Accompanied by a delegation, the Erbil Polytechnic University Rector Prof. Dr. Edrees Muhamad Tahir Harki visited the Turkish Consulate General in Erbil where He was welcomed by the consulate. The delegation consisted of the Vice Rector for Scientific Affairs and Higher Education and the Director of International Relations Office of the University,

At the beginning of the meeting, our university Rector on behalf of himself and the Erbil Polytechnic University extended his condolences to Mr. Mevlut Yakut due to the earthquake on February 6 in Turkey and asked God’s forgiveness for those who died in the incident He wished the wounded.

The university Rector said “our university presidency and all colleges and institutes have launched a campaign to collect aid for the earthquake victims and in the next few days through the relevant parties in the Kurdistan Regional Government will deliver the aid.

The Turkish Consul General in Erbil, Mevlut Yakut expressed his gratitude towards the University Rector for his visit and expressing their condolences for the incident.

Mr. Mevlut Yakut praised the attitude of the Kurdistan Regional Government and its people for being the first country to help the victims of the earthquake in his country and affirmed that the Turkish government is very grateful to the Kurdistan Regional Government and the Kurdish people for their cooperation in sending aid and medical teams to the country.

 Strengthening the relations between the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) universities in general and the Erbil Polytechnic University in particular with Turkish universities was another topic of the meeting. In this regard, he emphasized on facilitating opportunities for the higher education and participation in congresses and conferences and visits to Turkish universities.

They also discussed the issue of recognition of the Erbil Polytechnic University by the Institution of Higher Education in Turkey and the universities of that country, which was previously recognized as a Technical Education Foundation, and emphasized the need for close collaboration to complete this issue
