The Vice Rector for Scientific and Higher Education Affairs receives a group of students who are going abroad for summer internships

On Wednesday, the 26th of June, 2024, Asst. Prof. Dr. Botan Majid Asngar, the Vice Rector for Scientific and Higher Education Affairs, received a number of students of Erbil Polytechnic University who are scheduled to go to the Kingdom of Jordan and the Sultanate of Oman soon for summer internships.

In the meeting, Dr. Talib Mohammed Sharif, the Dean of the Mergasor Technical Institute; Abdullah Omer Yasin, the Head of the Cultural Relations of the University Presidency, gave necessary instructions to the students. He advised them to show a beautiful example of the Kurdish people, take advantage of their experience and knowledge and promote the name of Kurds and Kurdistan and make the citizens of these countries familiar with the beautiful Kurdish customs and traditions.

It is worth mentioning that the number of students is six students, from both Erbil Technical Administrative College and Soran Technical College, two of them in Jordan and the other four students in the Sultanate of Oman will conduct summer training and stay in those countries for a month.

The Rector of the Erbil Polytechnic University receives Japanese Ambassador in Iraq

On Wednesday, the 26th of June, 2024, Prof. Edrees Muhamad Tahir Harki, the Rector of the Erbil Polytechnic University, received Mr. Matsumoto Hutoshi, the Ambassador of Japan in Iraq and his accompanying delegation.

In a meeting where the Vice Rectors of the Administrative and Financial Affairs, the Scientific and Higher Education Affairs, the Student Affairs, the General Director of the Scientific Research Center, and the Director of the Rector’s Office were present, the University Rector expressed his pleasure at the visit of the Japanese Ambassador and accompanying delegation. He presented the history of the university, vision and working strategy of the Erbil Polytechnic University to the guest delegation, and also talked about the specialties that exist in our university.

 The Japanese Ambassador in Iraq thanked the Rector for receiving him and expressed his pleasure with the level and scientific, and human capacity of our university.

In another topic of the meeting they discussed about using the experience and scientific and academic capabilities of that country, whether through opening development courses for our university staff or sending teachers and employees of our university to Japan in order to participate in training courses and improve their skills.

In this regard, the Japanese Ambassador expressed his readiness to coordinate and work together with our university.

The Rector of the Erbil Polytechnic University attends Russian National Day

A delegation of the Erbil Polytechnic University led by Prof. Dr. Edrees Muhamad Tahir Harki, the Rector of the Erbil Polytechnic University, participated in the ceremony of the National Day of the Federal Republic of Russia arranged by the Consulate of the Russian Federation in Erbil.

The Rector was accompanied by Asst. Prof. Ranj Sirwan Abdullah, the Director of the International Relations Office and Ms. Hana Kaka Ahmad, Employee of the International Relations Office were officially invited by the consulate.

The participation of our university delegation in this ceremony is within the framework of the strong relationship between our university and the consulate and Mr. (RUBIN Maxim Olegovich) the Russian Consul himself and has visited the university presidency several times.

On the sidelines of the ceremony, the delegation of our university held several meetings with local and international guests and consuls.

It is worth mentioning that the representatives of President Barzani, the representatives of the Kurdistan Regional Government, the representatives of the Kurdistan Regional Government, political parties and representatives of government institutions and companies participated in the ceremony.

Erbil Polytechnic University arranges the graduation ceremony of the first batch of students of the Department of Criminal Evidence at Erbil Medical Technical Institute

Today, Tuesday, the 11th of June, 2024, in the conference hall of the Presidency of Erbil Polytechnic University, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Edrees Muhamad Tahir Harki, the Rector of the Erbil Polytechnic University and in collaboration between the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the first graduation ceremony of the students of the Department of Criminal Evidence was held in Erbil Medical Technical Institute.

In the ceremony, Dr. Hemn Mirani, the General Director of the Office of the Ministry of Interior. Dr. Tawana Najaf Mohammed, the General Director of the Office of the Ministry of Higher Education, the members of the Council of the Erbil Polytechnic University, the Director of the Criminal Evidence Office of the Ministry of Interior, Dr. Yasin Karim, the General Director of the Kurdistan Regional Forensic Medicine Office; Dr. Sabah Wais, the consultant of  the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, a number of officers of the Ministry of Interior and teachers of our university were present.

The ceremony began with a minute of silence for the martyrs of the path of freedom and independence of Kurdistan with the national anthem Ay Raqib, then the head of the preparatory committee Mr. Bahzad Hilmi Akrayi delivered a speech and warmly welcomed the guests. He said: “ Erbil Polytechnic University is proud to present the first group of graduates of the Department of Criminal Evidence of Erbil Medical Technical Institute, to Kurds and Kurdistan, which is the first department in the Kurdistan Region.”

Later, Prof. Dr. Edrees Muhamad Tahir Harki, President of the Council of Erbil Polytechnic University delivered a speech:

The Department of Criminal Evidence is the first scientific department in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq in the Erbil Medical Technical Institute in our university for employees of the Ministry of Interior of the Kurdistan Region, which was the result of signing the memorandum of understanding in the 14th of December, 2021. To train expert cadres in the field of criminal evidence and crime laboratory for practical lessons and access to the source of crime, first as the first group (23) officers and employees of our Ministry of Interior receive and support the courts in finding the source of criminal evidence in a scientific manner.

Dear audience,

Erbil Polytechnic University is one of the leading universities in the Kurdistan Region in training scientific and professional cadres for the labor market in Kurdistan The students who graduate today, like other classes, will return to the institutions of the Ministry of Interior with a full scientific baggage to serve the citizens with great enthusiasm and carefully, skillfully and scientifically their main task This is the main goal of the ninth cabinet of the Kurdistan Regional Government, especially the Prime Minister himself.

Dear friends.

Our university, in recent years, not only awards technical diplomas and bachelor’s degrees, but with the expansion of scientific departments in Erbil province in the opening of colleges and institutes, we have started the higher education process. We also award higher diplomas, masters and doctorates, which is a sacred step on both academic, scientific and professional work to serve Kurdistan.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Mr. Masrour Barzani, Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, for his support to the education process and the success of the universities With the support of God and the support of the new cabinet of the Kurdistan Regional Government, the procession of science in Kurdistan will move forward Dear students, we would like to thank both the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Ministry of Interior for their support for the success of this department.

Then the speech of the Ministry of Interior by Dr. “On behalf of the Minister of Interior, I would like to thank the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Erbil Polytechnic University, Erbil Medical Technical Institute and teachers for opening the department I congratulate the graduates and their families and I am happy that today with my friends in the Ministry of Interior to participate in the graduation ceremony of these dear ones that we will certainly use their skills in the future because now is better than worth They understand evidence of crime, how to collect and preserve evidence, and investigate to expose the perpetrators and protect the rights of the public and their victims.”

Then the speech of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research by Dr. “Today is a historic and important day for both the Ministry of Higher Education and the Ministry of Interior that the first graduation round of students of the Department of Criminal Evidence will be held today Have had for your work.”

Then the Dean of Erbil Medical Technical Institute asked the President of the University Council to award the graduation certificates to the students. Idris Harki, President of the University Council, presented certificates to the students of the Department of Criminal Evidence.

Finally, certificates of appreciation were awarded to the graduates and prizes were distributed to the first, second and third students.
