On Monday, the 13^th of May, 2024, in the presence of the Rector of the University, Prof. Dr. Edrees Muhamad Tahir Harki, Vice Rectors, the Erbil Polytechnic University Council members, teachers and students, the fourth scientific conference of the Erbil Polytechnic University students was held in Soran Technical College.

The conference began with a minute of silence for the souls of the martyrs. Asst. Prof. Dr. Botan Majid Asngar delivered a speech on behalf of the conference committee and welcomed the participants and spoke about the importance of the conference for students and said: “I am pleased that in a university-wide activity we are all gathered together here. One of the important tasks of the university is to be able to interpret the science we learn and serve a subject It shows the skills and knowledge of you and our university.”

Ladies and Gentlemen, “Student Scientific Conference is an annual conference in which the best projects of students at the level of scientific departments of colleges and technical institutes participate. The purpose of this conference is to present the results of the students’ efforts and skills in carrying out graduation projects with the help and supervision of teachers. There are 57 projects prepared by students in this conference.”

Then, the Rector of the University, Prof. Dr. Edrees Muhamad Tahir Harki delivered a speech in which he welcomed the teachers and students participating and said: “On behalf of myself and the council of the Erbil Polytechnic University, we welcome you, and congratulate the students who successfully passed these stages and Join the 4th Student Science Conference today.

Ladies and gentlemen, conference preparations are generally carried out in all academic institutions and centers around the world. Each conference does not exceed a few days, but the preparations may take several months or more than a year. It is obvious to all of us what an important role scientific research plays in human life and the development of society, as we see all fields of science such as health science, economics, electronics, agriculture, etc.

Scientific research itself has a significant role in human life and is a door to the progress of society. If scientific research is a door to the progress of society, the key is to publish the research. The easiest way to publish scientific research is through scientific conferences, so one of our most important goals in holding scientific conferences is that you can publish the results of the research at the conference and read and evaluate Researchers who meet and sit together at conferences may exchange ideas, solve each other’s problems, and become familiar with the laboratories and equipment available in scientific centers Take advantage of each other.

In addition to the benefits I mentioned, holding scientific conferences has another influence is that when a scientific conference is held in one country is held again in another country, in this regard, we can benefit from each other’s culture.

We have decided to hold it in a different place every year, one day in Mergasur, one day in Shaqlawa, Soran, Koya, Khabat and Erbil Or why is it useful to hold scientific conferences. 

Therefore, we felt it necessary to pay attention to this issue. This is another lesson for students to know how conferences are held in academic centers and universities.

Finally, I would like to congratulate the conference organizing committee and the deanship of Soran Technical College for hosting the conference.

Afterwards, students’ seminars were held according to the specialized sectors of administration, engineering and technology, medicine, agriculture, which were divided into six seminar halls. The evaluators of different sectors evaluated the students’ projects.

The conference was attended by 57 papers in the fields of management, engineering, technology, medicine and agriculture conducted by 250 students.

At the end of the conference, the Rector of the University, Prof. Idris Harki presented the University Shield to Prof. Sirwan Latif Haji, Dean of Soran Technical College and Chairman of the Conference Preparatory Committee, then presented awards to the participating students, supervisors and evaluation committees.

On Sunday, the 12^th of May, 2024, Prof. Edrees Muhamad Tahir Harki, the Rector of the Erbil Polytechnic University received Prof. Dr. Ahmed Dizeyi, the President of Knowledge University and his accompanying delegation.

In the meeting, where the Vice Rector for Scientific Affairs and Higher Education and the Director of the Rector’s Office, discussions were held on further promoting and strengthening relations between the two universities in the field of science and students.

Another topic of the meeting was the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the two sides that included several academic and scientific aspects, the most important of which was the admission of graduates of technical institutes of our university to continue their studies in the colleges of the named universities.

On Sunday, the 12^th of May, 2024, in the presence of Prof. Dr. Edrees Muhamad Tahir Harki, the Rector of the Erbil Polytechnic University, the Erbil Medical Technical Institute organized a ceremony on the occasion of the World Nurses Day at the university presidency.

In a speech, the Rector congratulated all nurses in the world and Kurdistan on the occasion of this international day. For many services they provide to patients in health centers and considered them an important and influential section of society.

Then, Asst. Prof. Dr. Tiran Jamil Piro, the Dean of Erbil Medical Technical Institute, congratulated all nurses in the world and the Kurdistan Region for the important role they play in serving patients in hospitals.

In the same ceremony where the Vice Rectors, members of the University Council, Mr. Shakhawan Salim, the President of the Erbil Branch of the Health Workers Union, teachers, nurses and nursing students were present, a seminar on the work of nurses and first aid was presented by a teacher of Erbil Medical Technical Institute.

At the end of the ceremony, awards were presented to a number of nurses who play an important role in serving nurses and patients in hospitals.

Today, Sunday, the 12^th of May, 2024, in the continuation of the activities of Students Culture Week, Erbil Polytechnic University under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Edrees Muhamad Tahir Harki, the Rector of the University, arranged a seminar for Mr. Jamal Murtka What are the challenges and obstacles to having an independent entity?)

At the beginning of the seminar, where the Rector of Erbil Polytechnic University, his assistants, several members of the university council, heads of departments, teachers, employees and students were present, the presenter of the activity read a brief biography of Jamal Murtka.

Then, Mr. Jamal Murtka began to present the seminar and thanked the rector and council members for organizing the seminar and the participation of teachers, employees and students said: “I am pleased to meet with you in a seminar arranged by university teachers. I am pleased to be with you today, you are the future leaders of our nation and country, with you who carry the weight of the history of our national struggle. For many years, our ancestors have struggled, shed blood and protected the people and the country.

In the seminar, Mr. Jamal Murtka spoke about several important and historical stages of Kurdistan, the Kurdistan liberation movement and the Kurdistan struggle from the beginning of the formation of Iraq to the present stage and highlighted the influence of powerful countries on the failure of Kurdistan.

Then, the door of discussion was opened for the participants and they asked several questions that were answered by Mr. Jamal Murtak.

Later, Prof. Dr. Edrees Muhamad Tahir Harki, the Rector of the University, thanked Mr. Jamal Murtka for delivering the seminar and presented an honorary award. In return, Mr. Jamal presented several books and works of his writings to the Rector and the Erbil Polytechnic University.
