The Department of Medical Laboratory Technology was established in 2003 at the suggestion of the Institute. So far, about (700) students have graduated, most of whom work in hospitals and health centers. Medical laboratory technology performs general tests related to blood banking, histopathology, chemistry, hematology, immunology and microbiology. MLT may perform laboratory testing in many clinical settings such as hospitals, primary health care centers, reference laboratories, clinical and bioscience industry.
Vision
The purpose of establishing this department is to graduate advanced laboratory cadres from the Erbil Technical Medical Institute, because hospitals and health centers in Kurdistan needed the services of these specialists, because hospitals and health centers in Kurdistan needed the services of these specialists. where the laboratory tests are carried out on clinical specimens to obtain information about the health of a patients to aid in diagnosis treatment and prevention of disease.
Mission
A qualify students scientifically, theoretically and practically to perform most of the examinations that patients need and that students should learn. And the graduated students from this department can satisfied laboratory examinations for different specialized in clinical laboratories examinations and ability to work in clinical laboratories. MLT professionals help to improve the lives of patients by providing quality care and treatment. MLT courses at medical technical institute prepare students for a career in MLT by providing them with the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed.
