A Delegation of Kurdistan Regional Government Participates in Annual International Conference of International Non-Governmental Organization SPARK

A delegation of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) consisted of Asst. Prof. Dr. Edrees Muhamad Tahir Harki Erbil Polytechnic Rector, Dr. Hemn Mirani, General Director of the Interior Ministry Divan, and Dr. Muhamad Kalari, the General Director of the Supervision and Quality Assurance in the Ministry of the Higher Education and Scientific Research attended the ninth edition of the SPARK International Organization Annual Conference “Reimagine Jobs.

The international non-governmental organization SPARK presented the ninth edition of its annual IGNITE Conference on Monday, the 13th of September 2022, in Amsterdam. The conference attracted entrepreneurs, NGOs, governments, policy-makers, incubators, philanthropists, and over 40 organizations from across fragile and conflict-affected regions of the Middle East and Africa. The international non-governmental organization SPARK formally invited the KRG delegation.

The Annual IGNITE International Conference is a worldwide event focusing on job creation for youths, women, and refugees in emerging economies. The organizers from the Dutch international development NGO, SPARK, chose this year’s theme, “Reimagine Jobs,” because of the multiple intersectional problems facing youth today. 

In 2019, Erbil Polytechnic University signed an agreement with the international non-governmental organization SPARK to implement a program for migrants, poor people, and university alums to develop human resources to help them gain job opportunities.

Erbil Polytechnic University, the partner in implementing the SPARK projects in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region jointly with SPARK, opened many training courses in capacity building and leadership for our university alums and refugees.

Erbil Polytechnic University Rector Offers Honorary Certificate to Qualified Teachers

On Monday, the 12th of September 2022, the Erbil Polytechnic University Rector Assistant for Scientific Affairs, Dr. Nageb Toma Bato, offered gratitude and appreciation of the University Rector, Prof. Dr. Edrees Muhamad Tahir Harki, to the Qualified Teachers in the Quality Assurance Process at the Erbil Technical Engineering College.

In the ceremony, where the Erbil technical Engineering College Dean and the Quality Assurance Director of the EPU Presidency were available, Dr. Nageb Toma Bato presented the Congratulation and Thankful Statement of the University Rector to the Qualified Teachers in the three measurements (Continuous Academic Development (CAD), Teacher’s Portfolio, Student’s Feedback) of Quality Assurance Process in the Erbil Technical Engineering College and Erbil Technical Administration College.

 

Erbil Polytechnic University Rector Directs A Message to the University Students For the New Year Study 2022-2023

In the Name Of Allah, the most gracious and merciful.

Dear University Council Members,

Dear my colleague lecturers,

Dear Academic and Administrative Staff,

Dear the University Students…

I am glad and so proud to receive you at the beginning of the New Year study (2022-2023), in which I perceive more fruitful and significant works from you to reach the targets that all of us gathered for inside the university environment.

At the Erbil polytechnic university, we work to develop all university programs, such as the University Administration, to improve the education results by using high-quality standards that the international universities use to upgrade the level of the academic and technical staff.

I want to tell our respectful lecturers: that our society expects great things from you; this is why I ask you to feel responsible towards your careers. Stay humble with your students, take their hands towards science and knowledge zone, and balance between paternity mercifulness and education process and study consciousness.

I also want to ask our students to focus on their studying and stay aware as learning needs awareness and great effort. You need to take care of culture and participate in developing our country because the future of our country depends on you and the society’s progress.

Furthermore, I would like to thank the technical and administrative staff for their hard work and cooperation with lecturers in creating a comfortable ground for receiving the new study year.

Finally,  I hope that this year becomes a year for developing the Kurdistan Region in all fields, especially in academic and scientific fields.

Erbil Polytechnic University Rector Visits Indian Country Consulate In Erbil

On Thursday, the 8th of September 2022, a delegation of the Erbil Polytechnic University headed by the University Rector Asst. Prof. Dr. Edrees Muhamad Tahir Harki visited the Indian Country Consulate in Erbil, and the Indian General Consul received them.  

In a meeting where the University Rector Assistant for Scientific Affairs, the Mergasor Technical Institute Dean, and the International Relations Office Director of the EPU Presidency were available, they talked about the continuation of our University and the Indian Universities relationships through the Indian Consulate in Erbil that contain the staff and lecturers exchange and the constant academic and scientific relations.

From his side, the Indian Consul assured his support and collaboration to continue both parties’ relationships, including the Indian expert’s visit to the Kurdistan Region and sending our university students and lecturers to this country’s universities to participate in various training courses. In this meeting, the Consulate decided to provide several book sources for our University and the Mergasor Technical Institute.
