Erbil Polytechnic University And World Food Programme Announce A Project For People In Need And Refugees

Within the attempts and stepping forward of the Erbil Polytechnic university towards internationalization and connecting the university with society and building ground for youth, the Career Development Center Directorate, in collaboration with the World Food Programme (WFP) of the United Nation announced a programme for people in need and refugees within Erbil City border. S

This program aims to help people in need and refugees by offering training courses and creating job opportunities in the fields of English Language, Information Technology (IT), and Business.

The specified period for this project is ten months, in which training and learning courses in the English language, IT, and Business are given online in the first four months. After evaluating the participant’s qualification levels through tests, they will be classified into two classes (Beginners and Advanced). In the fifth month, the business class will be delivered face-to-face in style. Then, the Career Development Center Directorate and WFP will try to find job opportunities for the participants in the private sector in the final fifth months.

In this programme, 150 people who are better to have certificates will be nominated, the students are not accepted, and they should be 18-35 years old. In the first four months, the attendees will receive 150 000 Iraqi Dinars.

Recycling Festival Was Conducted At the Erbil Technical Administrative College

The Recycling Festival of Erbil Technical College of Management was held in the presence of the Erbil Polytechnic University Rector, Prof. Dr. Edrees Muhamed Tahir Harki.

At the festival, Dr. Nageb Toma Bato, the Rector Assistant for Scientific Affairs and Higher Education, Dr. Azad Ahmad, Dean of the Erbil Technical Administrative College, several lecturers, and students were present.

The festival was held under the title of “Reuse of Materials for Earth Regeneration for 2050”. During the festival, his Excellency our University Rector Prof. Dr. Edrees Muhamed Tahir Harki delivered a statement in which he congratulated the organizers of the festival for the students and said, “I know that only those who feel responsible towards the environment have national intimacy and love their land and country. So, I am happy to see Students are busy protecting the environment.”

The Rector spoke about the history of attention to the environment and the beginning of environmental organizations and highlighted the scientific aspects of recycling and said: “Today, environmental protection includes a broad philosophical, economic, political, social and cultural perspective”.

It is worth mentioning that this festival was organized by the team (Glow) in collaboration with both the student committees of the Erbil Technical Engineering College and the Erbil Technical Administrative College.

The festival focused on finding environmental problems and finding appropriate solutions, while several activities and special programs were presented that pleased the audience.

Under the supervision of Erbil Polytechnic University and in cooperation with Erbil Technology College and research center and international relations office with German justice organization will establish and provide laboratory equipment in the field of sunlight energy for the Mechanics and Energy department of Erbil Technology College.

University Rector Received THM University Of German Delegation

Erbil Polytechnic University Rector, Prof. Dr. Idris Muhammad Tahir Harki, welcomed the University Of THM for Applied Science delegation consisting of Prof. Dr. Klaus Bayler and Prof. Dr. Bakr French.

The University International Relations Office Director and General Director of the Scientific Research Center at Erbil Polytechnic University were present at the meeting. They talked about a project entitled “Academic Education in the Field of Renewable Energy,” funded by the German DAAD organization.  

In another part of their dialogue, the meeting attendees discussed strengthening the relationship between our university and German THM University and emphasized increasing academic and scientific exchange.

The delegation of THM University showed assured to collaborate and cooperate in opening new scientific departments at the colleges and institutes of our university.

It is worth mentioning that the Directorate of International Relations Office will implement the project in three stages within two years in collaboration with the DAAD Organization.
