Erbil Polytechnic University Signed A Memorandum of Understanding with the International Labour Organization

On Sunday, 24th of October 2022, the Erbil Polytechnic University Rector, Prof. Dr. Edrees Muhamad Tahir Harki, received Maria Martí Antonio Program Manager – Cooperation Section of the European Union, Maha Kattaa the International Labor Organization (ILO) Country Coordinator in Iraq, and Roman Hussein from UNESCO.

In the meeting, all parties discussed implementing joint projects to support displaced people and Syrian refugees. later, the Erbil Polytechnic University and ILO signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to develop the skills of technicians and workers in cultural heritage. This agreement is considered a part of the implementation of the University’s strategy toward internationalization.

 The new partnership aims to develop and enhance the skills of the employment approaches to create decent job opportunities for displaced people, Syrian refugees, and host community members. ILO, jointly with UNESCO, implements the project, and European Union is the project’s financial funder. throughout this MOU ILO will build the capacities of trainers from EPU to implement the skills training programmes and monitor their training activities.

Erbil Polytechnic University And Nottingham University Present A Two Day Workshop  

In collaboration with the Nottingham University of the United Kingdom, The International Relations Office of the Erbil Polytechnic University arranged a workshop regarding internationalizing higher Education, study program, and technical and vocational Education on the 18th and 19th of October 2022.

The University Rector Assistant for Scientific Affairs, Council Members, and lecturers were present in the workshop. The workshop program included four subjects delivered online by Nottingham University Experts and professors Juliet Thondhlana, Rights Lab Associate Professor in Education and Migration, Prof. Dr. Volker Wedekind (Professor of Education) Faculty of Social Science, and Joshua Hawkins, Lead Officer (International) at the Midlands Engine.

The workshop subjects were the development of internationalization strategy in the world post Covid19, building a successful educational partnership, essential concepts and attentions of internationalizing education programs, the debated problems of skillful frameworks, and work and vocational programs. They also talked about some other topics like a focus on the type and level of the Erbil Polytechnic University internationalization.

This workshop is a part of the memorandum of understanding between the Erbil Polytechnic University, and Nottingham University signed on October 2021.

It is worth mentioning that Nottingham University is one of the top 18 universities in the United Kingdom and 114 worldwide.

Erbil Polytechnic University Gives Students An Opportunity Of Studying A Semester At Belfield University of Applied Science In Germany And Wroclaw University In Poland

After signing a Memorandum of Understanding with both Belfield University of Applied Science in Germany and Wroclaw University of Science and Technology in Poland in the past, which is within the International Relations Office activities aimed to internationalize the university, gives the studying opportunity to the second and third-grade students of our university colleges to study in the named universities that consist of five courses for each university.

To participate in this program, the students should have the following points:

  1. The student should be in the second or third grade of college.
  2. The student should be fluent in English with one of (the TOEFL/B2) or (IELTS 5-6 level).
  3. The expenses are upon students.
  4. The student must make a warranty and commission and complete a pledge to complete the study and return to the country.
  5. The university will make up a committee to evaluate students.
  6. The deadline is on the 20th of October, 2022.

At World Cerebral Palsy Day, Physiotherapy Department of Erbil Technical Health and Medical College Presents Several Activities

At World Cerebral Palsy Day, the Physiotherapy Department of the Erbil Technical Health and Medical College, in collaboration with the Aylan Center, performed several activities at the Erbil City Center.

The first activity was about showing and clarifying physiotherapy’s impact on some children with Cerebral Palsy. The therapists showed the media establishments how their health improved with physiotherapy.

In another activity, the fourth-grade students of the Erbil Technical Health and Medical College Physiotherapy Department, supervised by Dr. Mahdi Khalid, the Head of the department, visited Erbil Bazaar and Qaisariya Market. They distributed several awareness brochures regarding physiotherapy’s role in Cerebral Palsy sickness among citizens, shop owners, and business people.

It is worth mentioning that the Erbil Technical Health and Medical College will present similar activities in many other bazaars and public places to serve an aware society of Cerebral Palsy patients and how to help them.
