Erbil Polytechnic University And TISHK International University Hold A Meeting On A Joint International Engineering Conference

On Monday, the 16th of January, 2023, the Erbil Polytechnic University and the TISHK International University conducted a joint meeting on a dinner in the presence of both Rectors and Vice Rectors and several committee members of the Joint International Engineering Conference hold annually in February.

In the meeting both universities reaffirmed their cooperation and collaboration between and they also discussed the methods and quality of holding a scientific conference in the fields of civil engineering and computers that is scheduled to be held on 15-16/2/2023 and appropriate decisions were made.

It is worth mentioning that in the light of the memorandum of understanding between the two universities of Erbil Polytechnic and TISHK International, several scientific activities have been carried out and still on going. The most important ones are:

– (8) Scientific conferences in the field of civil engineering and computers

– (8) Student activities and competitions

– Opening joint higher education (master degrees) that so far (16) students in engineering fields have benefited and obtained master’s degrees.

Erbil Polytechnic University Rector Receives The World Universities Union President

On Monday, the 15th of December 2023, Our University Rector, Prof. Dr. Edrees Muhamad Tahir Harki received Dr. Orhan Hikmet Oghlu the President of World Universities Union in Turkey.

In a meeting where the Rector of Salahaddin University-Erbil, Prof. Dr. Kamran Younis Muhamed Amin, Vice Rector of the Salahaddin University-Erbil for Scientific Affairs Dr. Mustafa, Vice Rector of the Erbil Polytechnic University for Scientific Affairs Asst. Prof. Dr. Nageb Toma Bato, and several directors of the university presidency were present, Dr. Orhan Hikmet Oghlu congratulated Asst. Dr. Edrees Muhamad Tahir Harki for being appointed as the Rector of Erbil Polytechnic University.

In this meeting, they also discussed the works and activities of the World Universities Union in Turkey and emphasized on strengthening their relationships with the Erbil Polytechnic University as a member of the world universities Union to benefit from each other’s experience such as human and scientific resources.

Erbil Polytechnic University Rector visits Salahaddin University-Erbil

Our university Rector Prof. Dr.  Edrees Muhamad Tahir Harki visited the Salahadin University-Erbil to congratulate them for obtaining the first place over the Iraqi universities in Google Citation results. The Rector of Salahaddin University-Erbil received him in his office.                                                                                   

At the beginning of the meeting, his Excellency the Rector of the Erbil Polytechnic University expressed his pleasure and congratulated the Rector of Salahaddin University-Erbil for their valuable achievement that was reaching the top one in Google Citation amongst all Iraqi and the Kurdistan Region governmental and private universities that was reported on Clarivate the InCite-WoS report.

The Salahaddin University-Erbil Rector warmly appreciated our Rector’s visit and hoped that their collaboration and relationship in the academic and scientific fields with the Erbil Polytechnic University continue and provide best services to students, employees and teachers to develop the Kurdistan Region.

Erbil Polytechnic University and WFP have launched the Impact Project

On Wednesday, the 4th December 2023, in the presence of the Vice Rector for Scientific Affairs of the Erbil Polytechnic University, Dr. Nageb Toma Batu the registration process for Project Impact participants has begun.

The IMPACT project is implemented under the auspices of the World Food Program (WFP) by Erbil Polytechnic University – the Career Development Center (CDC), and is funded by the German Government and the German Embassy in Iraq.

The project aimed at helping Syrian refugees and internally displaced people and youth in Erbil governorate boarder and its surroundings to build a bright future, and ensure a scientific environment that meets the demands of university graduates, by opening skills development courses for participants in the fields of (English Language and Computer Science) for 10 months.

This project will be an incentive to prepare Alumni for current and future employment opportunities, and to provide scientific, cultural and material needs.

It is worth mentioning that the project is conducted online by experienced and qualified lecturers of our university for 150 graduates of colleges and institutes.
