A Delegation of Kurdistan Regional Government Visits Antwerp University in Belgium

On Wednesday, the 14th of September 2022, a Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) delegation, including the Erbil Polytechnic University Rector Asst. Prof. Dr. Edrees Muhamad Tahir Harki, the General Director of the Interior Ministry Divan Dr. Hemen Mirani, and the General Director of Supervision and Quality Assurance Dr. Muhamad Kalari visited Belgium. They visited Antwerp University and participated in a seminar specified for quality assurance under the title “Quality Assurance and Bologna Process.”

During their visit, the KRG visited several departments of Antwerp University in which they discussed conducting joint works with the international non-governmental organization SPARK in the future.

A Delegation of Erbil Polytechnic University Visits Armenia Consulate in Erbil

On Tuesday the 13th of September 2022, a delegation of the Erbil Polytechnic University, including the University Rector Assistant for Scientific Affairs Dr. Nageb Toma Bato and the Dean of the Mergasor Technical Institute, visited Armenia Country Consulate in Erbil and the Consul received them.

They discussed developing the University and Armenia Country Consulate Relationship in a meeting.

In another part of the meeting, both parties discussed the consulate collaboration in the academic field, especially opening the Apiary Department in the Mergasor Technical Institute. The institute should prepare a proposal accordingly to open the mentioned department in the future.  

A Delegation of Kurdistan Regional Government Participates in Annual International Conference of International Non-Governmental Organization SPARK

A delegation of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) consisted of Asst. Prof. Dr. Edrees Muhamad Tahir Harki Erbil Polytechnic Rector, Dr. Hemn Mirani, General Director of the Interior Ministry Divan, and Dr. Muhamad Kalari, the General Director of the Supervision and Quality Assurance in the Ministry of the Higher Education and Scientific Research attended the ninth edition of the SPARK International Organization Annual Conference “Reimagine Jobs.

The international non-governmental organization SPARK presented the ninth edition of its annual IGNITE Conference on Monday, the 13th of September 2022, in Amsterdam. The conference attracted entrepreneurs, NGOs, governments, policy-makers, incubators, philanthropists, and over 40 organizations from across fragile and conflict-affected regions of the Middle East and Africa. The international non-governmental organization SPARK formally invited the KRG delegation.

The Annual IGNITE International Conference is a worldwide event focusing on job creation for youths, women, and refugees in emerging economies. The organizers from the Dutch international development NGO, SPARK, chose this year’s theme, “Reimagine Jobs,” because of the multiple intersectional problems facing youth today. 

In 2019, Erbil Polytechnic University signed an agreement with the international non-governmental organization SPARK to implement a program for migrants, poor people, and university alums to develop human resources to help them gain job opportunities.

Erbil Polytechnic University, the partner in implementing the SPARK projects in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region jointly with SPARK, opened many training courses in capacity building and leadership for our university alums and refugees.

A Delegation of Erbil Polytechnic University Participates In Bologna Process Scientific Conference Works And Activities

A delegation of the Erbil Polytechnic University headed by the University Rector Asst.Prof.Dr. Edrees Muhamad Tahir Harki attended the works and activity process of the Bologna Process Scientific Conference of the Higher Education and Scientific Research Ministry, which continued for two days.

The conference was held on the 28th and 29th of August 2022 at the Rotana-Erbil Hotel, where our university participated through panels, presentations, and live dialogues.

Erbil Polytechnic University is one of the universities that worked on the Bologna Process in the past and was an influential member of the conference.

It is worth mentioning that the representatives of all governmental and private universities and Bologna Process foreign experts from several European and neighboring countries attended this conference.

This conference aims to review and evaluate different viewpoints of the Bologna Process through dialogues and scientific debates to determine the problems and obstacles that face the process and find designs and proper ways to solve them; it has been about seven years since the ministry decided on implementing it. Today, the Bologna Process Conference successfully fulfilled its works.
